Some maps so you can find your way among the Greek place name references.... This is a map of the regions of the Pelopensos. Most of them are NOT consolidated into unified states or leagues yet. The Major powers are Argos (leading by a wide margin. Fairly consolidated. Also Controls Cynuria and dominate the eastern seaboard of Laconia down to the contested mouth of the Eurotas.), Corinth (Rich, advanced, mercantile- but with small amount of farmland. Trade Rival of Argos), Sparta (rules over the upper and middle Eurotas valley. Contests control of the Southen valley with still independent Amylkai and the mouth of the Eurotas with Argive backed Gytheion. Has hegemony over most of the Rest of Laconia- but little Control) and Messenia. Arcadia is a collection of Pelagasian tribes and small Polis of which the largest it Tegea. The Achaean league does not yet exist and the city of Achaea excercizes no real hegemony on the rest of the province. Elis competes with Olympia for Hegemony over the Northwest- but not very vigorously.
