The English remain in Germany

How plausible is it, for instance, to have a quick disintegration of the Western Roman Empire into smaller kingdoms? Let's say the outcome of the Milvian Bridge went differently, and the East abandons Rome to the Germans. How would I be able to stop the Anglo-Saxon invasion of Britain? Would the British Legions just hold their ground, not inviting in the Angles, and elect a new leader (Emperor Arcturus, anyone?) Or would I have to have the Huns move north?

What? At the time of the Milvian Bridge neither English nor Germans existed yet.

As for your question, uh is Rome is abandoned, how are its Legions in Britain supposed to hold out?

A more centralized/unified British kingdom would help. Particularly if more of Roman culture/administration survives.

But the best would be to have the Sais stay on the continent. Although that likely requires a major change in agricultural tech there and a climatic change.

What about Roman Germania? This would spread Roman technology into Germania, particularly considering agriculture. As far as I know those Germanic tribes which lived under Roman rule for a long time (not as invaders/foederati, but as subdued along the Rhine) did not leave their homes. And those directly along the Rhine settled in former Roman lands. Roman Germania therefore takes out all Germanic tribes between Rhine and Elbe, and those directly east and north of the Elbe would go into Roman Germania rather than Britain?

The title had me thinking of something else...

... A post First World War assimilation of Germany as a Dominion of the British Empire.
