About a year ago I read an article that argued one of the major overlooked reasons why Europe was able to colonize the world instead of India was religion. Christianity demands glorious feats so it was more natural for Europeans to fight, conquer, and colonize. Meanwhile, Hinduism focuses on people minding their own station in life and not forming massive armies to campaign in foreign lands. Do you think that this argument is correct? Could a more militaristic religion have made India more capable of competing with Europe?
