As many people on this board are aware, the Central Powers established a puppet Kingdom of Poland, but never actually chose a king. One potential candidate for the throne was Archduke Charles Stephen. A common assumption is that if Charles Stephen or his son Karl Albrecht is crowned as King of Poland, then Austria will cede Galicia-Lodomeria to Poland. This makes sense after all, it pleases the Poles, and provides more legitimacy for their monarch. It also removes most of the Poles and Ukrainians from Austria-Hungary.

But there will still be one part of the Austrian Empire with Poles: the Duchy of Teschen. And here's the interesting part: Archduke Friedrich, Duke of Teschen only had one son: Albert Franz. If Albert Franz were to die without children or marry morganatically, then would the the Duchy of Teschen pass to his uncle Charles Stephen or his cousin Karl Albrecht upon his death? If so, could the King of Poland demand union of the Duchy of Teschen with the Kingdom of Poland?

I'll admit that I got all of this information from Wikipedia, so I could have misinterpreted the succession of the Duchy.
