The development of Vienna as part of Germany?

Which time period are speaking off? Medieval unificaton, early modern, industrial era or modern? It would probably be smaller than it was during the Austrian Empire period, if Germany owns Prague that city would be the main focus.

As part of a Prussian Germany

Probably disused and cornered if it's not the capital. There is no reason to let your main rival grow, it would be suicide for Prussia, and Vienna would take the crown easily. So the Hasburgs would probably totally abandon the city and call their subjects to do the same and join the rest of the Hasburg empire

Vienna, excluding an improbably Austrian Empire that integrates the German Confederation, is not going to be the capital of Germany, it's too peripherical.

That was the main plan, but Austrian Emperor refused to leave Hungary r split it's possessions. But everyone was for Austria

???? The Hapsburg empire is probably gone in such a situation also the Austrians were pretty German nationalists, especially Viennese, if they aren't literally mass pissed off by Prussia they won't try to leave the empire.

Everyone? What do you mean by that?

Presumably Vienna would be the capital of an Austrian kingdom inside the federal German Empire, akin to Munich as being that of Bavaria. So, it's not going to fall into dishevelment or irrelevance, though not all that many diplomats or royals will be going there in comparison to the past.

It will retain the monuments to its former glories, and people will still be proud to be Viennese - after all people are proud to come from Leeds or Liverpool in the UK, it's not a requirement for where you live to have political importance.

Presumably, akin to Bavaria, Saxony and Wurrtemburg, Austria would have its own peace-time army, and presumably Hapsburg Archdukes could still rise to high command levels in the unified Imperial Army based on competence, akin to Prince Leopold of Bavaria

There might well be a formal merger of Catholic conservative parties between the Austrian and Bavarian ones.

Damn, the barmaid is threatening to take my dinner away cos I am typing!

I think it also depends on if this Greater Germany includes Bohemia, and whether Bohemia and Austria form a single entity within the Empire or two distinct royal entities in personal union as that alters whether or not many Bohemian figures might move south or if they stay in Prague.

Relations with whatever remains of Royal Hungary are also key, as if they are not very good then Vienna and its regions might see some military migration from soldiers posted to the border region. Again depending on relations which what becomes of the former Austrian/Austro-Hungarian monarchy then Vienna might see a lot of early migration from the various Catholic Germans who settled the Balkans and Hungary who "move back" and choose Vienna due to opportunities.
