After Champa was destroyed on 1470, the Chinese government sent a censor Ch’en Chun to restore the King of Champa, however, he discovered that the Vietnamese soldiers had already occupied Champa and was blocking his entry, so he proceeded to Malacca and its ruler sent back envoys to china again to inform the Chinese that while going back to Malacca in 1469, the Vietnamese attacked them, castrating the young and enslaving them.

The Malaccans told that the Vietnamese sought to conquer Malacca in 1469 and the Vietnamese had already conquered Champa.

The Chinese Emperor scolded them, ordering the Malaccans to strike back with violent force if the Vietnamese attacked.

At this point in time the Cham could go to the Khmer empire to be refugees, however, the Muslim Cham tried to proselytize Islam to the Khmers causing them to gain the anger rejection of Khmers against the Muslim Cham on 1490, causing the Muslim refugees to leave the Khmer Empire, for Aceh.

It was said that the Chams who proselytized Islam are spreading a religion that will change the culture of the people of the Khmers and for that reason the Khmers became angry expelling the Muslim Chams from the Khmer Empire, causing the Chams to choose the destinations of Brunei(Borneo), Sulu, Palawan and Samtoy(Selurong).

The Malaccans vow revenge against the Vietnamese, as allies of China, however its enemy, the new fledgeling Aceh, whose King is a Cham refugee is no friend of China as well the pioneer old state in Sumatra in Islam, Sumudera Pasai Sultanate, both would remain subservient to Majapahit and would help the Kingdom against its rebellious subordinates like Demak and Brunei.

Meanwhile, the Japanese-Java trade to Nihon via Selurong was stalled for a decade due to the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in the last decade of the 15th century, the Acehnese and Javanese muslim traders would proselytize their faith in the Port cities of Selurong, like Faru, Bigan, Tundun and Kalumpit.

Since the Chinese and Malacca allied to save Champa, the current Emperor of Majapahit, Girindwardhana married a Vietnamese Princess to ally with Vietnam against the Chinese, and due to this there is a united Majapahit front against a Chinese-Malacca axis, on 1500, a war was declared between China and Vietnam.

In this Time Hongwu is determined to restore Champa to help an ally against the Vietnamese who are oppressing them.

The Troops from China would try to liberate Champa from Vietnam, causing both Majapahit to deploy troop of 300,000 against the Chinese-Malacca alliance, however, the Chinese-Malacca alliance would deploy a 400,000 strong Army of majority Chinese against a Majapahit-Vietnamese Army, the Chinese would deploy another 100,000-people army that came from Guangdong causing the battle caused a drain to the Vietnamese treasury, causing the defeat of the Vietnamese.

Tratoan was restored on his Kingdom of Champa, which was restored by his Chinese allies, he would thank Hongwu in restoring his Kingdom, this battled would render both Majapahit and Vietnam humiliated for a long time against the Chinese.

After continually lobbying at the Spanish court and two years of negotiations, he finally had success in January 1492. Ferdinand and Isabella had just conquered Granada, the last Muslim stronghold on the Iberian Peninsula, and they received Columbus in Córdoba, in the Alcázar castle. Isabella turned him down on the advice of her confessor. Columbus was leaving town by mule in despair when Ferdinand intervened. Isabella then sent a royal guard to fetch him.

However, Columbus would contract Pneumonia after he was fetched so he died before coming back to Isabella I of Castile causing the navigation by Columbus to fail to materialize.

The idea of Columbus discovering sailing west to Asia was considered as a crazy idea and Colombus proposal was considered as “That Crazy Idea” and an impossible feat after the new continent west was discovered.

On the same time, Isabella would continue to pressure her daughter, Isabella to remarry to the Duke of Beja, however she told her mother that her condition for her marriage to the Duke of Beja would be the Expulsion of the Jews once he assumes the throne after the condition of Isabella the younger was sent to Manuel, Duke of Beja, the next in line in throne, he decided that it is justifiable for him to position him as the heir.

Isabella of Aragon would marry Manuel duke of Beja on 1495, months before the death of John ii, after which he was crowned as Manuel I of Portugal.

Margaret of Austria

In order to achieve an alliance with Queen Isabella I of Castile and King Ferdinand II of Aragon, Maximilian started negotiating the marriage of their only son and heir, John, Prince of Asturias, to Margaret, as well as the marriage of their daughter, Joanna, to Philip. Margaret left the Netherlands for Spain late in 1496. The marriage took place in 1497. John died after only six months, on 4 October. Margaret was left pregnant, but on 2 April 1498 she gave birth to a premature stillborn daughter. The Dowager Princess of Asturias returned to the Netherlands early in 1500, when her brother and sister-in-law invited her to be godmother to their newborn son, Charles of Austria.

Catherine of Aragon

Catherine's wedding took place on 11 June 1509, seven years after Prince Arthur's death. She married Henry VIII, who had only just acceded to the throne, in a private ceremony in the church of the Observant Friars outside Greenwich Palace. She was 23 years of age. The king was just days short of his 18th birthday.

On Saturday 23 June 1509, the traditional eve-of-coronation procession to Westminster was greeted by a large and enthusiastic crowd. As was the custom, the couple spent the night before their coronation at the Tower of London. On Midsummer's Day, Sunday, 24 June 1509, Henry VIII and Catherine were anointed and crowned together by the Archbishop of Canterbury at a lavish ceremony at Westminster Abbey. The coronation was followed by a banquet in Westminster Hall. Many new Knights of the Bath were created in honour of the coronation. In that month that followed, many social occasions presented the new Queen to the English public. She made a fine impression and was well received by the people of England.

In this time the muslims of the land of Selurong of Majapahit would recognize the ruler of the petty Kingdom of Selurong as their own leader forming a Sultanate, after the ruler of the petty Kingdom Selurong(OTL also dubbed as Tondo Empire) inside the Province of Selurong of the Majapahit Empire, the biggest polity inside of that province that have adopted islam called himself Makdum after his own conversion in 1500’s who would be the recognized leader of the muslims in the Selurong province of Majapahit which would mean the city states that adopted to islam and the Petty Kingdom of Selurong would form the nucleus of a new Sultanate, the Sultanate of Selurong.

Compared to the North, named as Selurong controlled by Majapahit, the South of the island is which is said to be wild, named as Kumintang and is in the influence of Brunei, that later would lead Brunei slowly annexing it and incorporating in a century later along with Palawan and Minolo.

In this time, the restored Kingdom of Champa is in good relations with China under Ming of Hongwu due to the Chinese being able to resuscitate it are a success, due to the shame the Majapahit and Vietnam had with the battle with china the two would stop bothering Champa at least for a century, however the two would be humiliated and would want another fight.

They said that the navigation of Christopher Columbus’ failed expedition due to him dying was a wasted opportunity and they were right, since the English via Cabot were able to discover a new land in 1499, they called as Newfoundland, however, the French took over of the English discovery just after it was discovered, the French would call it as Quebec, the French colony would include the areas known as Markland and Vinland discovered by the Norwegians a couple centuries ago.

Since 1498, the Portuguese have been seizing ports and cities in India and their route is via the Cape of Good Hope or the Southern part of Africa, the Portuguese made their colony in Africa named Mozambique and the Kingdom of Congo as a Portuguese vassal.

Now the deep blue sea is easy to penetrate due to the Portuguese, however the Castilians would be economically dominated by the Portuguese in the later union, after Isabella I of Castile died on 1505 and Manuel I and Isabella II took over, a year just before that, an explorer, Cabral under the Portuguese would discover the land of the Holy Cross a land across the Deep Blue Sea of Guinea, the land would be later being known as Brazil.

The two continents discovered by Cabot and Cabral became later known as America due to Amerigo Vespucci navigating the continent on 1506, on the same time a colony in Southern Africa in the Cape was established.

The new discoveries would cement the Portuguese dominance upon the two countries of Aragon and Castile making the new united Spain united under Lisbon dominance.

The Battle of Malacca in 1511 occurred when the governor of Portuguese India Afonso de Albuquerque tried to subdue the city of Malacca in 1511, however it was stopped by the alliance between Malacca, Champa, Siam and China, the strong alliance which can reinforce a couple of hundred thousand troops since the victory against Vietnamese in the 1470’s against their enemies.

The port city of Malacca controlled the narrow strategic strait of Malacca, through which all seagoing trade between China and India was concentrated. The attempt to capture of Malacca was the result of a plan by King Manuel I of Portugal, who since 1505 intended to beat the Castilians to the Far-East, and Albuquerque's own project of establishing firm foundations for Portuguese India, alongside Hormuz, Goa and Aden, to ultimately control trade and thwart Muslim shipping in the Indian Ocean.

Having set sail from Cochin in April 1511, the expedition would not have been able to turn around due to contrary monsoon winds. Since the enterprise failed, the Portuguese could not hope for reinforcements and would have been unable to return to their bases in India. It was the farthest attempt of territorial conquest in the history of mankind until then.

The King of Spain, Manuel I, since his acquisition of Castile via his wife tried to have his son, Miguel betrothed to Anne of Navarre, the eldest daughter of Catherine I of Navarre, a cousin of his wife in order to break the betrothal between Anne of Navarre and Charles IX(Orlando) of France, the son of Anne of Brittany and Charles VIII which is under the regency of Louise of Bourbon, to add with this France has interests in Naples which is under the Aragonese throne they are about to inherit, however, Anne of Brittany, now the duchess of Savoy, the Queen dowager of France, sent a cease to desist letter for Manuel I and Isabella in order to stop their harassment to Catherine I of Navarre who she views as her friend and even offered the hand of the young Anne of France, the younger sister of the King to Miguel.

However, both the two parties never made a compromise so they chose not to back down on their original plans on each other.

Earlier before the acquisition of Manuel I, Isabella had arranged the marriage of Maria of Aragon on 1502 to Louis, the Duke of Orleans who had already divorced his first wife, Jeanne on 1501 due to the fact that the marriage was unconsummated and he married Maria also to confirm the fact that Naples is under Spanish rule, the marriage would produce two daughters, Claude b. 1503 and Renee b. 1510.

On 1500’s another language is forming on Selurong, which would be known as Selurongese, which is a merger of Irraya/Gaddang with the dialect clusters in upper Pampanga river that fused with Kapampangan in OTL, the languages of Faruan(OTL Ibanag) and Macabebean(OTL Kapampangan) would only be spoken in the respective areas Greater Faru and Greater Macabebe, however, Macabebean would only be widely spoken in Macabebe and Hagunoy due to Kumintang language taking the environment of Macabebean and other related languages in Selurong Bay, Selurong Bay is OTL named as Manila Bay.

The language of Kumintang would expand north, taking all of the Selurong Bay except the Northwestern side which is Sambal speaking which would cause the frequent confrontations between the latter Sultanate of Kumintang and Sultanate of Selurong, the Island would be divided into three, the Sultanates of Selurong, Kumintang and Ibalon.

On 1510, the Sultan of the Bruneian Empire, Sultan Bolkiah would develop the area of Kumintang as well as the Kota Selurong area, in order to trade with China.

The Territories of the Bruneians at this point are

Kota Selurong

Kumintang trading towns

Palawan

Northern Borneo

Since the Bruneians are openly trading with China, the Whole Empire of Majapahit have a negative opinion about the Bruneians who are basically a part of Majapahit, since the Majapahitans would not fight against China since a war with China would bring again instability like what happened during the Vietnamese-Champa war earlier.

Emperor Girindrawardhana or Brawijaya VI was quoted to say that The Bruneians are not to be trusted, however the Emperor decided not to fight them due to a war with them would start a war against China.

In this time, the Bruneians would openly ally and make tributes with China and for that reason, an open alliance of the Bruneians and the Chinese were made.

On 1508, the proxy marriage for the two would be made and the marriage treaty between France and Spain would be made, which would be the aid of Spain to the claims of John of Foix against Catherine of Navarre.

On 1520, the Sultan of Selurong, Makdum I would attempt to conquer the areas of Kawit and Kumintang due to the richness of resources of the area because the rivers of Selurong became brackish after the eruption of Pinatubo, the area is separated by the area of Kota Selurong from Selurong and its surrounding area which is sparsely populated.

In this time the areas of the Province of Selurong of Majapahit that does not have a significant muslim prescence are Kaboloan and Bikol, which means that the Sultanate of Selurong have no authority in these areas and are direct vassals of Majapahit, however both the Inner Northern Highlanders, Kumintang and Kawit are not under Majapahit.

The two areas of Kawit and Kumintang are split by the Pansipit Channel which flows from and to Taal lake which is filled with abundance of Seafood and Fishes which the people of the Northern half of Selurong Island.

The war would drag the Chinese due to the Bruneians would support the people of Kawit and Kumintang.

The Vietnamese and the other Majapahit forces would arrive to Selurong Bay and in Kagayan River area in Faru to support in the Selurong in order for the Majapahit Empire and the Sultanate of Selurong to incorporate the two provinces, however the Chinese, Chams, Malaccans and Bruneians would also make a skirmish and arrive in Kumintang and Samtoy.

The Chinese-Cham-Malaccan and Bruneian coalition would defeat the Majapahit-Vietnamese armies in both Samtoy and Kumintang forcing the Majapahit armies to withdraw from Kumintang and Kawit, however a part of the Cham armies would remain and settle in Samtoy and Kumintang.

Charles IX Orlando and Anne of Navarre
GW256H332-1-.jpg

Charlotte of Denmark, Charles IX Orlando's 2nd wife

XV

Anne of Navarre was a robust queen and a very good queen to Charles Orlando, she gave birth to many children for Charles IX Orlando, however she died on 1523, she was only 31 years of age, giving birth to her daughter, Marguerite.

Anne of Navarre has given children in a row by 1515, namely, Francis I of France(b. 1509), Anne b. 1511 and Charles b. 1513, Marie b. 1515, Charlotte b. 1517, Louis b. 1521, Marguerite b. 1523.

After the death of Anne of Navarre, Charles IX Orlando would marry Charlotte of Denmark taking Vinland with her as her dowry, he originally wanted to marry Dorothea of Denmark, however, Dorothea of Denmark is married to Manuel, Duke of Beja, so he chose to marry the younger Charlotte of Denmark, whose dowry is the claims of Denmark to the Vinland in order to solidify the claims of French to the New world in the outlying islands of Quebec.

In this time the French would expand south of the Eastern Seaboard of America(In the OTL Maine and New York).

Charlotte of Denmark, gave birth Caroline of France in 1525 and would give her two further daughters, Jeanne(b. 1528) and Catherine(b. 1532) and a son, Henry(b. 1535), she would remarry to Anthony of Bourbon after the death of her first husband on 1540.

Young Bona Sforza

XVI

Helena of Muscovy and Alexander I of Poland were able to have two children, Wladyslaw b. 1494 and Helena b. 1503, Helena would later marry Frederick of Denmark, the son of Margaret of Austria and Christian II of Denmark.

The regent of Wladyslaw, Sigismund the old wanted a wife who would give birth to a heir sooner and a princess closely related to the Habsburgs, however, Eleanor of Austria is not suitable as she is just single digits and Bona Sforza is just in the process of puberty, so Bona was chosen instead of Eleanor, Sigismund would be given Lithuania on the death of Alexander I of Poland.

Wladyslaw IV would marry Bona Sforza, who would exchange her own possessions in exchange to the Duchy of Silesia on 1520, she would be known as a hero for the Silesian Polish people for restoring Silesia to Poland, afterwards she would advise her husband for an alliance with Russia as Bona is very much influenced by her mother in law, Helena.

Bona Sforza is quoted to say that if she would do something heroic, she would trade her own possessions for the people that loved her, she visited Cieszyn before her marriage to Wladyslaw IV and the place had captured her heart and would want to help its people.

She would instill the love of country on her son, Sigismund Augustus b. 1510 and her two daughters, Isabella b. 1515 and Anna b. 1517 and Wladyslaw b. 1522.

Bona arranged the marriage of Elizabeth of Denmark and Sigismund Augustus.

A View of Taal Lake

After the war of Brunei with Makdum I of Selurong, Abdul Kahar of Brunei decided to completely incorporate Palawan and the coastal cities of Kumintang and Taal lake to Brunei and have them completely recognize him as their lord since Selurong is their enemy and they need a strong ally against them, this would also Areas of Kawit and Kumintang would be under Bruneian influence for a very long time, in this point in time the Kingdom of Kaboloan is reduced into a city state that is a part of Selurong, in this time Ibalon and the Inner Mountain tribes of Selurong would be the area where the Paganism would flourish in the future, the dynasty of Kaboloan is the same as Selurong but in this time the dynasty of Kaboloan now is just a minor cadet lineage.

The Bruneians would benefit on trade with the Chinese, however the Majapahitans would remain a threat on the Bruneians’ trade with China.

Abdul Kahar would develop the cities of Kota Selurong, Kalatagan and Balayan against the return attacks of the Majapahitans, which includes its vassal in the North, Selurong and their allies the Vietnamese, the Bruneians would fortify both Kota Selurong against the future Selurongese attack against them.

The Bruneians would start an organized plan against the possible attacks on the Selurongese on Kota Selurong Kawit and Kumintang.

In this time the Madyaas or the Pisheya would be alert of the Bruneians and the Chinese military activities on the Sulu Sea due to the military expansion of the Bruneians.

In this time the Sultanate of Maguindanao would be known under Sharif Kabungsuwan who is the leader of the Muslims in Maguindanao who centralized Islam in the island, however there are minor taifa sultanates in Lanao.
