The Dead Corsican

A friend and i were kicking around ideas today at work about how to radically alter the European Geo-Political landscape in the 1800's. we had few ideas which im going to refine and turn into an actual TL but one idea was so outstanding, IMVHO, that i had to post it here with out ay development.

Basically what he said was kill Napoleon before the French Empire starts to decline. either have him die of a sickness, or assassinated, or just a freak accident. but he must die before the invasion of Russia.

How does this change History? what are the major ramifications? discuss!

at the time of napoleons coup d etat there was another french general, named Pichegru, who was also preparing his own coup, so i guess there would still be a great france, it would just be a lot diferent, and perhaps it wouldnt conquer all of europe

I, for one, think that there is the chance of a very interesting *1848 parallel. Most of the important underpinnings for an era of revolutions will in all likelihood still be there, but I'm guessing it will be far harder for reactionary groups to strike back.

There should be a law against not reading OPs... >.<

Without Napoleon France wil be atacked by Russia, Prussia, there will be instability in France, because Napoleon II is only 1 year old. The main question-will Bonaparts stay on throne
