The Crying Man, The Messiah and God. A longer lived Genghis Khan

We don't have enough TLs emphazising religions, and I've been hoping to read a Mongol-centered TL for a long time. That's great.
Also, the Dalai-Lama writing Dune is so perfect on so many levels.

This is a really great timeline so far. I'm currently on the fifth book of Conn Igguldon's Conqueror series about the Mongols, so I'm very much interested in this right now. Hope it gets more updates.

It certainly will.
Unfortunately, a combination of Offsted and then being very ill has made me prioritise my other TL (because I have so much less to research), but I should hopefully have shaken this by next week.

This is very unique: creating a new religion is a challenge, and I'd like how add other elements not usually thought of, like environment and historical events. I hope you update.

Thank you!
I am indeed updating this but not until December 16th. I don't want to go too much into detail, but if you look at my post on "the crisis in education" you will see why. The work this TL requires is a lot more than my other TL so I'm waiting for the Christmas holidays.

Hey guys. Apologies for the delay, those of you who have been putting up with my rants in the Social thread will hopefulyl understand that my life has gone to hell and my ability to consistently add to this has gone with it.
Either way, I hope you guys enjoy this one. I have taken some slight historical liberties with this one RE The Epic of King Gesar, but I have hopefully taken enough of a spin on it that it is plausible enough with the idea of the "Gesar" figure being known as a mythical figure across cultures by this point even if there are no historical references to suggest that he was.

Part 6The Holy Kadag – Notes on Chapter 32: The ascendance of Mahdi Maitreya

King Gesar. Legendary folk lore hero of the Steppes Tribes and Tibet. Supposed past life of Genghis Khan.

This chapter (also known as the Ascendance Sutra) details the last moments of Genghis Khan and is therefore an important chapter of the Holy Kadag. In this chapter, Genghis Khan is dying of reasons unlisted in the Kadag or by any witnesses (a popular reason listed is parasites as an alternate explanation for the worm and its demonization by Namkhaist followers). During his final hours, he is in the company of Grand Patriarch Kublai Khan (at this point, Khan over the combined territories of Xinjian and Tibet), praised Buddhist philosopher and teacher of Kublai Drogon Chogyal Phagpa and friend/advisor of the great Khan, Mahmud Yalavach prior to their eventual conversions.

It is unique amongst all the sutras of the Holy Kadag in multiple ways.

First and foremost, this sutra is claimed to have been written by grand patriarch Kublai himself, being one of the few sutras in the Holy Kadag to be based off of direct eye witness accounts and not inferred through tantric council, or as a commentary on recorded events in the life of Genghis Khan. Although the Holy Kadag has taken multiple forms across multiple countries, it is Kublai’s self described role as “first disciple” which has made his writings authoritative across all versions of the Namkhaist religion. Proponents of the religion point to Kublai’s wisdom and poetry as evident of the divine, whilst detractors have often used this section as evidence of Kublai’s creating a religion for his own gains. Both detractors and proponents should recognise however that there is a large degree of historical debate as to the historicity of Kublai himself writing this section due to the earliest editions discovered of the Ascendance Sutra over 100 years after the death of Kublai. Namkhaist monks will however point to past life experiences and recorded oral teachings which maintain the truth as written in the Holy Kadag.

Second of all is the mention of mythological figure Gesar. Whilst there are no written records of Gesar as a figure prior to the Holy Kadag, it is interesting to note that many steppes cultures share with Tibet a common legend of Gesar, a wandering Khan sent to earth by Tengri-Allah to deal with the corruptions of demons and drawing them underground. It was not until Namkhaism was popularised that Gesar became institutionalised across the steppes, and many have pointed to this figure as an important figurehead for conversion of the Turks and as a Namkhaist commentary on antediluvian times.

At the last, the Mahdi Maitreya returned to the desert of duality.

Oh holy Gobi, the land of duality.

Although he spoke to all through holy action, he spared us uncertainty through breathing the sacred words.

So was born the Namhkayoga, the tantra of Tengri-Allah

At the last, he kept company with the wise man of the east, and the wise man of the west, and his first disciple.

For all are beloved by Tengri-Allah

In his death, he showed that even the highest wisdoms are naught compared to the breath of Tengri-Allah.

The Namkhayoga is the highest wisdom.

Laying in peace, the man of the West spoke first. He said, “Great Khan, child of Keturah, in your last please breathe in the ways of the Hui Hui. Join Keturah, and Abraham in the will of Allah.”

He understood not duality, he understood not that he spoke to Abraham.

And then the man in of the East spoke. He said “Great Khan, wrathful deity on Earth, in your last please breathe in the ways of the Dharma. Reap your karma, and embrace the Buddhas which are above any Brahma.”

He understood not Tengri-Allah, he understood not that he breathed all Dharma into the world.

Mahdi Maitreya, despite the clutches of death laughed heartily at both of them. “Oh beloved advisors. You mean me well, but know not the truth of this matter.”

For Mahdi Maitreya gave the world love.

“Your truths are but fingers on the hand of Tengrii. You show me a book of his children, and you teach me the ways of his world. I have spoken to Tengrii, and Tengrii speaks through me now.”

Blessed be Mahdi Maitreya

“Oh Beloved advisors. There is a Brahma above even Buddhas, but he is not bound to a book. Tengrii is Allah, and he speaks through the world and he speaks through us. Look to my example, and see how Tengrii-Allah guided my hand till my will and his were indistinguishable.”

Blessed be Tengri-Allah

“See the world which now belongs to him through me, for now the world is truly the realm of the highest. The sky watches over all, and communicates it’s Dharma in both wrath and peace.”

Blessed be union in duality

Kublai, first disciple of Mahdi Maitreya understood these words.

Blessed be the prophet of Mahdi Maitreya

“Oh grandfather, will of Tengri-Allah personified. What is your final wish, that I may grant it?”

The first to understand the way.

Mahdi Maitreya turned to his first disciple, his earthly form near the dust. “I would ask to die before the open sky, to join with Tengri-Allah in the way he best fashioned me”.

Tengri-Allah had brought us a warrior, that we may know peace

And so the first three disciples of Mahdi Maitreya fulfilled his wish and gathered his holiness onto his last steed.

And the worm could not touch him

At the last, he turned to his disciples. “I have been here many times. I have walked with Tengri-Allah when we first were separated and have fathered many nations as Abraham. I have marched in his name as Gesar and brought dharma by the strength of long dead arms. Only now have I truly conquered the Earth.”

Gesar and Abraham did not fully understand.

And so did Mahdi Maitreya join Tengri-Allah, riding off into the endless sky.

Blessed be the eternal, endless sky.
