In the 28th century humankind is a truly interstellar species, settled across hundreds of worlds and capable of extraordinary technological feats. The technology underlying all of this is the 4D Translation Drive, aka the Crumple drive, allowing navigation via 4D spatial topography. This technology, developed in the early 22nd century, allows for vast 3D distances to be skipped entirely, cutting journeys of months or years into days or weeks. The human sphere that has emerged in the drive's wake is one in which societies, cultures, and languages have continued to change and evolve. This is not a future of monocultures, nor one in which Earth's 21st century nations have been imported without change, but a future in which *history* continues.

    Welcome to the Crumpleverse.

This has been explored through a series of maps and infographics, both those I've created casually and those where my Patrons have helped fund more ambitious work. The Crumpleverse remains a primarily visual universe, but it has expanded outside of its original map-focus to incorporate pages and work that are graphical but not necessarily including maps. Between this and a number of requests for the Crumpleverse to gain its own thread it feels like the time is right to do just that.

This initial post will collate links to all Crumpleverse images. Those with enough map related content will continue to be posted on the Map Thread, but those that are not will instead be posted here.

This is the title page for Neoclassicism in the Human Sphere, which I didn't post earlier because, well, no maps.

Here's the first page for Neo-Sumerianism, which I'm really pleased with.

Again posting this separately to the Map Thread just for completeness.

A number of Crumpleverse flags had already begun to show up on various infographics I've made over the past while, and then with the heavy load of my full time job this part of the year I felt a need for something relatively simple as a creative outlet. And so I tried to design a flag for New Tokyo. And then after that a flag for Novgoroth. And soon I found myself with a growing number of maps for named Crumpleverse planets, and thought why not compile them, so here we are.

Can I say it took absolutely forever to work out a design I liked for Earth's flag. It's not that every flag was captured within a few minutes, far from it, but Earth took multiple days to come up with. 3 other viable flag designs were born out of failed attempts, so the work wasn't at all wasted. It was just really very annoying!

Trying a different kind of infographic to see if I like it or not.
