The Constitutional Crisis Of 1960

In 1960 JFK narrowly won the Presidency in one of the closest elections in U.S. history. Nixon advisors believed that Kennedy had benefited from vote fraud in Texs and Illinois; it has long been claimed that Kennedy stold Illinois from Nixon. If the fraud had been proven, could it have created a Constitutional crisis since Nixon could have then won both the popular and electoral vote?

Giving Nixon the Illinois electoral vote does not change the 1960 result. He would also have to show that Texas was stolen.

I think I have heard suggestions that there may have been naughtiness on more than one side in that election.

"Nixon, Daley, and JFK are all on a lifeboat together. It starts to sink, and can only hold one person. They take a vote to decide who gets to stay on the boat. Mayor Daley won 16-2."

The Registrar told Johnson that He had a list of every Democrat in the local Cemetery.
Johnson sent him back to get the rest of the names.
"Republicans have a right to vote also"
