(The CSA In 1862 after the PA offensive)
Throughout the earlier eighteen hundreds, the United States was divided over the act of slavery. in 1860 it reached a boiling point, the southern states declared independence from the north, and the rest is history. Or not, with the confederates poised to win this time. The states of Missouri, Maryland, and Delaware declaring independence and succeeding along with the other CSA states. The message sent in 1862, detailing the massive attack north was actually sent successfully and picked up by its recipients. With a somewhat successful invasion of New Mexico Territory in 1861, and the capture of Washington D.C.The same year the first ironclads were used by the CSA, and tore through the blockade in the Atlantic opening supply routes from out of the country. The Large invasion was successful launched north taking the south of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Due to negotiations with the British and French, they managed to gain support from both their parties due to cotton trades. The Confederate States Of America now had a vital lifeline and the bigger advantage over The United States. By Spring of 1863, British, and French volunteers had shipped into the CSA and the French were added to assist on the Middle North Front, attacking and taking back Kansas Territory and Missouri. The British helped on the West front pushing into New Mexican Territory to California. Lee's remaining troops in Pennsylvania would push north and cut off new England from the rest of the states. British and French Navies assisted where they could in destroying the remaining untied states navy. By the end of 63' they had pushed significantly towards California, through Kansas Territory, and had successfully won the battle of Erie PA cutting off new England from the rest of the US. Lee had also won the battle of Long Island, and smaller invasions were sent into Ohio, and to Springfield Illinois.
(CSA in early 1864)
With the front widening, the leadership of the CSA knew that a front much larger logistically could not be supported, and manpower was running somewhat lower later into the war. It was decided that the final push would be to southern California, where the rest of the bulk of leadership was based to force them to capitulate. In later summer of 1864 a large attack and push was launched towards southern California. by later spring of 1865, Los Angles had been captured, and they had the USA suing for peace. They were forced to on the other factor that fresh British troops had arrived in Canada to assist if needed. And so it was, after peace treaty the borders had changed, The CSA took Kansas from the Kansas territory, taken all of New Mexico Territory, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Long Island.

(Below, Map of CSA borders after Los Angeles Treaty)
After the war, both nations started to rebuild. The north becoming poorer than the south.
In the 1880s, the New Mexican Territory was partitioned into the states of New Mexico, and Apache (Arizona) and 5 states were bought from Mexico as well has an alliance being formed between the two nations in 1883.
(Map of the CSA in 1883, after the mexico purchase.)
The U.S.A. Was angered by the "unjust" expansion looking for excuses for war, having recovered somewhat from the last conflict. The European powers wouldn't side with the CSA if they did not outlaw slavery, and that would give the CSA a much harder time in the war.
They decided to outlaw slavery, but slaves were still slaves in everything but name. Cuba had also been bought leading up to this. In the first year of the war, Armies advanced into New York, and south California to emulate the the grand victories made in the Independence war earlier ago.
(Labeled map of the North America in 1884.)
The first campaign in California was successful sweeping up most of south California. It was forced to stop after coming to a standstill in later 1884. In the east, the campaign of New York was a success but heavy casualties were sustained. With another separate attack launched into Navajo (Nevada) to capture Navajo City (Carson City). It was successful in capturing the lightly defended city from its small militias.
(Map of gains in 1884)
In 1885, the CSA suffered its first major defeat in years, has British volunteers arrived to assist in the West and eastern fronts. The army in charge of holding Missouri borders was pushed back into the pocket between middle north Missouri and the western North Illinois border. They were forced to surrender and left Jefferson city open. A pincer attack was then launched on St. Louis successfully capturing it. In New England, most of New England had fallen, and troops were advancing on the borders of Maine. The attack only slowed in winter of 1885. In California, the troops had made way northern more in summer and spring. it bogged down somewhat in Fall, and a landing was launched in Portland Oregon to loosen the lines and draw troops back. They were successful at pushing inland and capturing vital cities and supply lines with little resistance.
