The Charles Lindbergh Presidency as told in newspaper articles

If you'd drop the "before 1940" requirement, I'd say, "US SIGNS TETRAPARTITE PACT" or "US SIGNS MOLOTOV-RIBBENTROP-PRESCOTT BUSH PACT."

Lindbergh's politics are highly mispercieved. Most people assume just because he was against getting America involved in the war, he was pro-Nazi. He just thought it wasn't any of America's concerns. He even wanted to beef up the Navy and Air Force so no one could dream of touching the US.

After his political views were proven wrong, he joined the war effort first as a consultant to the aircraft manufacturers and air force, then flew over fifty combat missions against Japan. Whatever else he was, he was a patriot.

Now back to the topic... assuming Lindbergh wins the Republican nomination and beats FDR.

WORLD ON IT'S OWN!
US recalls all American personel from Britain and China! No more US blood shed for Asia and Europe the President says!

As for President Lindbergh...

-A. Believe in eugenics and nordic superiority, both conventional and respectable ideas that were defended by men like Roosevelt (TR IIRC) and Oliver Wendell Holmes...his hatred for "Yellows" and "browns" was also not unusual for the time, especially the anti-yellow feeling...

-B. Was oddly friendly with the nazis, and had a secret family in Germany...the fact that Ford, Prescott Bush and others were also friendly with the nazis doesn't help

-B2: He was really easy to influence as far as I've heard, and so was turned into being kind of pro-nazi by an acquaintance IIRC...

C. Was an isolationist, Robert Taft Style, anti-Communist...Can't remember much more, was obviously a Republican...

Well, just to give us a good starting point.

OTL (And ITTL)

Sept 14th, 1939: [Pre-PoD]

Charles Lindbergh speaks at anti-war rally:

“the potentially gigantic power of America, guided by uninformed and impractical idealism, might crusade into Europe to destroy Hitler without realizing that Hitler’s destruction would lay Europe open to the rape, loot and barbarism of Soviet Russia’s forces, causing possibly the fatal wounding of western civilization.”

(Since no one seems to have a good PoD in mind, we can start with that)
