The Caroleans, once regarded as the bravest, most skilled and efficient (though this just might be the nationalist in me speaking) troops in northern Europe. What is the earliest point in which this army could have arisen? Could it have been ready for battle at the time when Sweden intervened in the Thirty Years War? If so, would it have made a difference? If not, back to the original question: What point would you say be the earliest in which Sweden's Caroleans could exist and be ready for battle at the drop of a hat, so to speak...
