It is an excellent thing to study the history of the great deeds of the past, and of the great man who did them, with an earnest desire to profit thereby so as to render better service in the present.

My name is Cyrus P. Underwood. I am, what you would call, a worlds explorer. I have been doing this for some time now and, whether you like it or not, this world is not unique. I have been going to various worlds to see what there is to see in them. I have seen many things, in my time. I am of the opinion that history needs no forward. But it does need explanation, it needs context. Because everything that we do, as humans in within the context of the world around us. That includes our past actions and decisions.

In the history of the world things can change in a split second. A wrong turn down a street in Bosnia-Herzegovina started a world war. An open window in a London flat gave the world a medicine that has saved millions. I have been to many worlds before I reached this one. It is here where I shall settle. However, I have picked up many things about the histories of the worlds where I have been. Therefore I have decided to share some of them starting with this one:

In 1908 Theodore Roosevelt decided not to run for another term as president. Instead he supported his Secretary of War, William Howard Taft, for the presidency. Taft won that year and Roosevelt went into his retirement happy. However, Taft was not the politian that Roosevelt was. Finally, Roosevelt decided to run against Taft for the Republican nomination in 1912. However, by the time Roosevelt did Taft had gotten most of the party leaders behind him. It looked like Taft was going to win. That was when things took a different turn.
