Let's say Edward the Black Prince doesn't die in 1376. He would succeed his father in 1377 as Edward IV. Considering he would 47, we can expect him to rule for a decade or so.

I recall that by the end of Edward III's reign, the war with France had reached a stalemate. Both sides were basically exhausted with fighting each other. The English were basically left with the coastal areas of Gascony, and the ports of Calai and Brest in Brittany. If the Black Prince had come to throne in 1377, he would not be in much of a position to renew the war with France. He also was not the most effective Prince of Aquitaine.
