The Black Death without the Mongols

Hi everyone! First post here.

I remember reading somewhere that the mongols were instrumental to spreading the bubonic plague everwhere via the expanded Silk Road they maintained and to Europe specifically from a siege in Crimea. If the Mongol empire didn't exist or didn't spread west, would the plague have consumed Europe? If it doesn't come, what would happen to Europe?

It'd still have come along the Silk Road. My bet is it would have arrived slower, maybe in the late 1350s, and it would have been less devastating, killing a few million less people in Europe (due to a slower spread and a better reaction)
