Before I start, a few notes on how this timeline is going to work:

The starting time period is roughly 1460-1492. That is, modest changes with limited butterflies will begin as early as the 1460s, with the bulk of the action to pick up in the 1480s and 1490s. However, things may not become truly unrecognizable until considerably later, perhaps as late as the 1520s in some areas. This is basically a modified butterfly effect in which one small change, or even a big change, in one place will not necessarily cause ripple effects in other parts of the world unless there's a direct causal path.

My goals are to write something that, number 1, looks at the interplay of medieval and modern, number 2, is fun and interesting and, number 3, is a modest Lutheran wank [and, as a consequence of number 3, is a bit of an immodest Hapsburg/Spanish screw, though the Hapsburgs will have their day].

Anyway, the initial point of departure is relatively small: the survival of Edmund Earl of Rutland at the Battle of Wakefield, and his subsequent marriage to Mary the Rich of Burgundy.

Feel free to speculate; first post will come tomorrow.
