This is BBC News 24 on BBC One. This morning a heavy quake measuring 8,5 on the Richter scale has hit the Portugese coast. According to first reports the entire city of Lisbon has been levelled to the ground. All around the Atlantic coast cities were flooded by a heavy Tsunami. Here in the UK cities like Brighton and Southampton have been hit. Cork and Wexford have been severely hit. Prime minister Blair has chaired a Cobra-meeting. More news coming up.
