    1. Nation Name: United Kingdoms of Scotland and Holland (Viringt Kinriks o' Scotland an Holland)
OTL Area: Scotland, Duchy of Holland.
    Rough population: 2.5 million.
    Summary:
In the 1300s, Willem, Duke of Holland, with a claim to the Scottish throne, invaded, and conquered it. Under the rule of a Dutch dynasty, Scotland was "Batavianised", and, with continental military support, managed to remain independent from England. However, a Scottish House managed to rise up and gain the throne in the early 1600s. In the late 1700s, a United Kingdom was formed. The language of the nation, Scots, is 50% Old Dutch based, 30% Gaelic, 15% English based, and 5% other. The nation is stable, and modernized with an industrialising mainland and Lowlands. The Lowlands are semi-lawless, with local dukes controlling groups that frequently raid the English, and other Scots. The Highlands are under the rule of Highland clans, which are less lawless than the lowlanders. The noble class is mainly of mixed Scottish and Holland descent. The Tussenvoegsel "van" has overtime changed to "Fann", so you have minor nobles such as the Fannperths. Currently, Pieter III is the King.

    2. Nation Name: Empire of Dixie
OTL Area: US Midwest, Hudson Bay
    Rough population: 4.3 million
    Summary:
Originally an English colony (though Dutch, Scottish, or Irish is fine if necessary), the Empire of Dixie split off from that nation. It is primarly a settler colony and has imperial ambitions on much of North America, and perhaps the world.
    Map: Orange in North America.

    Scotland-Holland

The history of Scotland-Holland begins in the year 1482 when William VII, Count of Holland, and brother of the Duke of Burgundy took Scotland. In that year, the young King James IV of Scotland died. With no heirs, the nobility of Scotland fought amongst themselves as they scrambled to take the throne. William of Holland, related by way of his mother, had a strong claim on Scotland and landed with an army at Dunbar. His forces quickly took Edinburgh and established William as King of Scotland. Under William of Scotland, burghers from Holland settled in Scotland, while the Dutch and Scottish nobilitys began to intermarry. The House of Valois ruled both Scotland and Holland in addition to France and Burgundy. Successive Scottish monarchs used their familial ties to forge strong alliances with France that helped curb the power of England through the 16th and 17th century. French and Valois assistance was crucial in the Scottish conquest of Ireland.

Both Scotland and Holland converted to Protestantism, albeit through different processes. In Scotland, the influence of John Knox led to the monarchy declaring the Church of Scotland in 1560. Holland became Protestant by less official means, but ended up largely Calvinist by the 17th century. Holland was lost in 1659 when Scotland came under the rule of the House of Avymore while Holland remained under a cadet branch of the Valois. Despite this, the ruling classes of Scotland and Holland had blood and cultural ties, so were close. David IV of Scotland retook Holland in 1701 in the War of Hollandic Succession. In 1753, the United Kingdom of Scotland and Holland was declared, with the Scottish Parliament uniting with the States General of Holland and the abolition of the County of Holland.

With the growth of banking and shipbuilding in Scotland, the Scottish government had the economic base to start colonies. Scotland's first colony was at the meeting of North and South America. Francis MacDonald, a Highlander mercenary veteran of many European wars, established Fort David (OTL Tubualรก) as the capital of the Darien Colony in 1629. Landless Scottish members of the nobility soon began to settle in the Darien. That colony soon became prosperous and the neighboring English colony, centered around the Isthmus of Darien, was ceded when it became apparent that the Scots had the upper hand. Throughout the rest of the 17th century Scotland played a game of catch-up with the rest of Europe, building the foundations of an empire in India, Africa, and the East Indies.

While often overlooked, Scotland-Holland as an empire in Europe - Ireland. Both Scotland and England had attempted conquests of Ireland since the Norman Conquest. Though Scotland had some territory in Ireland before, Scottish attempts at conquest began in earnest in 1610 under King William III. William began a series of Lowland Clearances, moving Lowlanders to Ulster, where they settled colonies. Over the next century and a half, Scots and Dutch left the crowded cities and depressed areas for Ireland, where they hoped their fortunes would be better. The Irish people suffered in the process, many fleeing for Australia or converting to the Church of Scotland. Many, however, were killed outright... By 1820, nearly a quarter to one third of Ireland is Scottish or Dutch.

Recently, Scotland-Holland has been on the forefront of the rise of industry in Europe. Scottish and Dutch banking, coupled with the historic focus on education in Scotland, has led to the rapid expansion of a monied class that built factories throughout the country. Because of these changes, Scotland-Holland has one of the largest middle classes worldwide. This division is more than just economic as the landed classes seem to support the Droitist party in Parliament while the monied are generally in favor of the policies of the Contractualists.

Scotland-Holland played a part in the English Revolution of 1812. The overthrow of the previous English government by revolutionaries in that year led to unrest in English Ireland. The Scottish government took advantage of the distraction of English forces at home by occupying the parts of Ireland under England's dominance, bringing all of Ireland under the rule of Scotland. There was talk of the conquest of Northern England, but nothing occurred on that issue until 1813 when a small Scottish army crossed the border. Twenty miles into England they met revolutionary forces at Longwitton. The Scottish forces were decisivly defeated and withdrew to Scotland. Had Scotland-Holland began their invasion the year before it might have achieved it's goals, but, by 1813, the revolutionaries had consolidated their power and foreign invasion would be hard. Since what has become known as "The Disaster of 1813", the Anglo Commonwealth and Scotland-Holland have been distrustful of each other.

With these, and other, changes, it appears that a new era is on the horizon. Scotland-Holland looks to be likely to increase its power in the next century - but who knows how history will go?

The future is uncertain (which definitely comes as a shock to you).

    Nation: Scotland-Holland
Nation Being Attacked: England, Irish Revolutionaries
    Allies: Franco-Iberia
    Reason: They invaded us.
    Forces: 105,000 Regulars
    310,000 Reserves
33 Ships of the Line (72+ guns)
    70 Frigates (~44 guns)
    Dozens of Cutters, Schooners, etc.
Merchant Marine (as needed) ALL THESE THINGS ARE PRE-WAR. I have been inactive, so I don't have an estimate of how many of these are available.
    Plan:

-Just hold the line. We are being overrun.

    - If the French manage to make headway in England, we should start an offensive.

    - Protect Holland. Bring as much of the government there as possible.

    - Ferment revolution in the rest of Scotland.

    - Encourage Scottish settlers in Ireland to fight the Irish Republicans.

Well, what is this, you seem to be posting random posts with no true meaning, is this some form of a plan for future games/posts or what?
