The bachelor King.

I have two questions:

1-If Edward VIII had not met Mrs Simpson,he could remain bachelor for all his life,or as King and Emperor should have get married sooner or later, for give a Queen to UK and Empire?

2-I'm working at a timeline in which neither World War I, neither others major conflicts are occurred in Europe.
Without WW-I, which Germans princesses could married Edward in we said late 20s or 30s?

3-What about a Danish,Swedish or Dutch wife?

Thanks.

I'm not sure the Establishment would want him married. Mrs Simpson was a convenient way to dispose of a King that would have done a lot of damage to the monarchy if he'd stayed. The government would have needed a Consort like Caroline of Anspach to get anything done, and the only women I can think of to deal with it were already His mother and sister-in-law.

I think it would have ended up like James the II and VII. The Establishment would have taken the first opportunity available to force him to abdicate. Probably over Nazi Germany.
