The Articles of Deconfederation: A World Without America

Can you please provide a summary of the nations of North America?
I don't really have time to do nation profiles right now. I'll delve into this once I'm done with my "New York Tour" of boxes and wikipages.

What is Joel Zimmerman doing ITTL?
He's still doing Deadmau5. I'd like to image that EDM is more popular ITTL, if I could find a reason to justify it.

This NY stuff is so good! I can see some inspiration from Kanan's OFC, but I probably shouldn't talk about other timelines too much here. What are Canadian and Alaskan politics like?
Canada operates in basically the same way that it does IOTL, but the Conservatives are the current ruling party, with leader Larry Smith sitting as Prime Minister. Alaska works like the United States, but with an actually functioning democracy.

Who rules the Kingdom of Louisiana?
Louisiana is a constitutional monarchy under King Philippe III, whose powers are, for the most part, ceremonial, and Prime Minister Eugene Verne (Gene Green IOTL) of the Socialist party.

Good. I think one possibility is that pop isn’t as popular. i think a good reason for that could be Michael Jackson doesn’t do anything outside Jackson 5.

No joke: I actually postulated this exact idea a few days ago when I was working on a wikitable for this timeline (which may get released sometime next week).

Donald Trump
Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is a sitting member of American Parliament from the electoral region of southern New York. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality known for his casino ventures in New York City and Atlantic City, Midatlantica.

Trump was born and raised in the Queens region of New York, within New York City, and received an economics degree from the Wharton School of the University of Midatlantica. He inherited control of his father's real-estate business in 1971 and renamed it to the Trump Organization, expanding its dealings into Manhattan in the 80s. The company built skyscrapers, casinos, and golf courses throughout both New York and Midatlantica, but soon became known for its excessive number of bankruptcies. Trump's businesses became relatively quiet in the 1990s before picking back up in 2005 with the debut of the television series The Dealmaker, in which Trump played the part of a boss looking to hire new talent at a real-estate agency. The show became a commercial success, giving Trump a new rush of notoriety throughout the 2000s and into the 2010s. Trump used this fame to begin a political career, an endeavor which he claimed to have interest in since 1987, with the opening of the office of governor of New York State.

In 2014, Trump began a campaign for the office of Member of American Parliament (MAP), and managed to secure the nomination of the South New York Liberal Party. Trump, along with 22 other candidates for the region, was elected successfully on November 24, 2014. He took office on January 3, 2015 as a member of the People's Moderate Party group, despite his tendency to more often caucus with the right-wing Americans for Liberty and Sovereignty group.

As of early 2016, it became public that the New York Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was conducting an investigation in Trump's finances, with speculation being that he accepted illegal donations from foreign dignitaries and governments in exchange for spreading anti-American Union rhetoric and talking points in his speeches to parliament with the goal of creating general discord.

What's Hawaii like?
1. Scarlett Johansson is a Danish actress mostly known for acting in dramas, as well as her ability to speak and convincingly act in both English and Danish.

2. Louisiana's population is mostly concentrated in its south. This region is known as Greater Acadiana, and is much more developed than OTL's Louisiana. Citizens living in this region live mostly in highly-developed modern cities (New Orleans is the fifth most populous city in North America), while infrastructure plans under the Verne government have made more rural areas better connected with these cities through internet access and one of the continent's two high-speed rail systems. Dana is similar, but its rural areas are more disconnected from the rest of the country, so it is more likely for people in the mountainous east of Dana to go without access to quality commercial food outlets or recreational areas.
New England, in contrast, is a theocratic totalitarian dictatorship; church and education are highly interconnected from the earliest stages of learning, meaning New Englander children are taught to believe in a wrathful, angry God from the day they become cognizant, and to always act as though this God is watching them. Women are required by law to wear "modest clothing" (Hair can be shown, but must be below a certain length. All bottom-half clothing must leave a certain amount of space between the fabric and the skin and always fall below the ankle.) and to be subservient to God first, then the state, then their husbands. Sexual crimes against women are commonplace, and almost all go unpunished (laws permit spousal rape, but not assault out of wedlock, although most accusations result in punishment of the woman rather than her attacker). The New England perception of the Bible is so warped that even the most radical elements of the Christian right in other countries denounce the country's government as an abomination. Heavy economic tariffs have left the country increasingly starved, and annexation by New York or Canada is completely off the table, as having to adjust such a radicalized population (be it via New York/Canadian intervention or a democratic N.E. government) is considered a dealbreaker for military intervention. Agents from the A.U. and the Commonwealth work inside of New England in an attempt to actively undermine its government.

3. Star Wars was made as a single movie in 1977, doing relatively well. However, the demand for a sequel was extremely minimal due to a general lack of interest in sci-fi stories among a global audience, so it was left as one installment. Star Trek premiered in the 60s as a TV show airing exclusively in Dana, and has since been rebooted several times, each with a small non-Danic audience. The show still runs toady in the form of Star Trek: Dawn's Edge and is produced by Danic TV station DFB.

4. New York City is considered, in general, to be one of the best places to visit, along with Paris and London. In Carolina, there's a large statue of 8th president Andrew Jackson that acts as an art and history museum, as well as an artificial waterfall, called Jackson's Bluff. The best theme parks in the world are oftentimes considered to be the two Disneyland locations in San Diego, California and Occidental, Dana. (I believe that answers question 5).

6. Hawai'i is an independent republic, and has been since 1956.

Scott Brown is listed as leader of the Whigs and as chairman of the Liberals— or are these two different Scott Browns, in which case, which is the former MA senator?

That is actually a typo. Let me fix that real quick.
Edit: fixed.

What is the etymology of "Dana"?
Like OTL’s Dana Point, California (which I’m familiar with because of the fact that it’s about 40 minutes from where I live), Dana is named after Richard Henry Dana Jr., an author known for his works describing coastal California. ITTL, his writings are a defining part of Northern California culture, and inspired the Danic revolution of the 1880s. The country’s demonym is “Danic” and a person from Dana is a “Danan.”
