1. Scarlett Johansson is a Danish actress mostly known for acting in dramas, as well as her ability to speak and convincingly act in both English and Danish.
2. Louisiana's population is mostly concentrated in its south. This region is known as Greater Acadiana, and is much more developed than OTL's Louisiana. Citizens living in this region live mostly in highly-developed modern cities (New Orleans is the fifth most populous city in North America), while infrastructure plans under the Verne government have made more rural areas better connected with these cities through internet access and one of the continent's two high-speed rail systems. Dana is similar, but its rural areas are more disconnected from the rest of the country, so it is more likely for people in the mountainous east of Dana to go without access to quality commercial food outlets or recreational areas.
New England, in contrast, is a theocratic totalitarian dictatorship; church and education are highly interconnected from the earliest stages of learning, meaning New Englander children are taught to believe in a wrathful, angry God from the day they become cognizant, and to always act as though this God is watching them. Women are required by law to wear "modest clothing" (Hair can be shown, but must be below a certain length. All bottom-half clothing must leave a certain amount of space between the fabric and the skin and always fall below the ankle.) and to be subservient to God first, then the state, then their husbands. Sexual crimes against women are commonplace, and almost all go unpunished (laws permit spousal rape, but not assault out of wedlock, although most accusations result in punishment of the woman rather than her attacker). The New England perception of the Bible is so warped that even the most radical elements of the Christian right in other countries denounce the country's government as an abomination. Heavy economic tariffs have left the country increasingly starved, and annexation by New York or Canada is completely off the table, as having to adjust such a radicalized population (be it via New York/Canadian intervention or a democratic N.E. government) is considered a dealbreaker for military intervention. Agents from the A.U. and the Commonwealth work inside of New England in an attempt to actively undermine its government.
3. Star Wars was made as a single movie in 1977, doing relatively well. However, the demand for a sequel was extremely minimal due to a general lack of interest in sci-fi stories among a global audience, so it was left as one installment. Star Trek premiered in the 60s as a TV show airing exclusively in Dana, and has since been rebooted several times, each with a small non-Danic audience. The show still runs toady in the form of
Star Trek: Dawn's Edge and is produced by Danic TV station DFB.
4. New York City is considered, in general, to be one of the best places to visit, along with Paris and London. In Carolina, there's a large statue of 8th president Andrew Jackson that acts as an art and history museum, as well as an artificial waterfall, called Jackson's Bluff. The best theme parks in the world are oftentimes considered to be the two Disneyland locations in San Diego, California and Occidental, Dana. (I believe that answers question 5).
6. Hawai'i is an independent republic, and has been since 1956.
