It's sad the humans residing in the zones are essentially "outcasts" out of fear they will contaminate the outside world with the biological agents dropped there by the Allies during the second phase of the Second Global War.
Given the fact Cabal China is a large North Korea, I'd say ATL Taiwan is similar to OTL Taiwan. Down to the fact the Cabal would claim the island as theirs (which is tame, considering the Cabal wants the Chinese people to the conquer the whole world).

Who would promptly be told "No," when seeking to investigate. I mean the only place that heavily contaminated with anthrax OTL they had to strip to the bedrock to decontaminate. That was just Anthrax as well, there's far more than just that in Berlin and it may never be safe.
Would have fought in the war, possibly ended up going a bit darker due to what they saw. Also Palin doesn't have anywhere near as many places to travel to for his shows.
@CalBear never really said but there are about 20 and since Poland got all its pre-war land back there may not have been significant annexation in the East (especially given much of Germany is functionally uninhabitable anyway) bar probably East Prussia) Presumably it's most of the smaller German states with the big ones (Prussia, Bohemia) cut up into more manageable pieces?
IIRC, it was the cities of Nuremberg and Berlin. I believe there is a reference to the surrender of the Nuremberg as the last organized German unit to give up.
When answering other questions he said that most Nazi holdouts were either too fanatical to be taken alive (in decent physical condition and potentially mentally rehabilitatable) or once captured could never be deinstitutionalized because they were brainwashed so much from the Hitler Youth and society in general that they'd be locked away forever. Also that there have been crazy Kaminazi-impersonators over the years and the public response only makes Germans worse off in the long run.
