The American Dreamer: The Presidency of Henry Wallace

I mean, would Chambers and Orlov be in trouble from the government?

And Gouzenko stayed in the West (Canada, mostly) until he died.

Maybe they wouldn't be viewed favorably but I doubt the administration would go as far as arrest/give back the two agents (or any other drastic measures). Perhaps anyway they could tell the full effect of Soviet infiltration would be silenced or squashed by FBI intimidation.

Your talking about the actual timeline though. I'm talking of this timeline. I don't doubt the validity that real life Gouzenko stayed in the west.

I see very interesting developments here. Please, remember that the Soviet Union has limited capability to conduct invasion on the communist Japan and thus, they should be more independent. Maybe even takin some help from the United States, like Tito did.

Will we see more anti-American sentiments in the Southern Japan?

I plan too make North Japan much more independent operating, like our timelines Tito. (Which coincidentally in this timeline is more a ally too Stalin) Or like our timelines China-DPRK relationship where the original invaders stay for some period of time but leave while setting up a communist administration. After, they help militarily and economically aid the new fledging country.

Of course. Killing millions of a country's people will have a lasting impact on the country. Especially since this Japan is much more a de-facto puppet of the US, there will be a majority opinion that the invasion was unjustly deadly and the Americans are only prolonging it by staying. The aided crackout by American intelligence forces of any "rebellious" organizations or persons is not happening as well (similar too Allied occupation of Germany), though Wallace did promise that the occupation would end by 1955 in favor of a "democratically elected, fair election" also mentioning that he would make sure human rights and civil liberties of the Japanese people are respected. The destruction of key mainland industry's, aimed at making South Japan unable in the near future too ever become the military superpower, also keep a sense that the Americans are trying too destroy Japanese glory unfairly.

Not too mention a similar sentiment among Americans. While the administration come too be blamed for millions of Americans being sent too war in Japan too die, there is also a sentiment that the Japanese absolutely hate America even to that moment. This resulted in the brutality they showed upon American soldiers including killing of non-combatant military personal.
