The Alternate Time Zones Thread

In the 1970s Arthur C. Clarke novel Imperial Earth, Earth has a world government and a pretty much upper middle class living standard for it's citizens. This Earth has only 4 time zones, Asia, Africa, America, Oceania. Each time zone is 6 hours apart so if you move to the next one to the east or west you either set your watch forward or backward 6 hours. You could have alternate time zones of that nature.... fewer time zones but more of a gap between zones.

Personally, I always thought it would be interesting to have *more* timezones, each one only a half-hour apart. Can't think of a reason why anyone would do this, though.

One worldwide time zone.

Same time everywhere. Each month we all set the clock foward 1 hour so no one is stuck with darkness at day, light overnight forever.

We could get used to darkness at noon and sunrise at midnight.

This way I could stay up for the end of monday night football and the west coast trips for eastcoast baseball teams wouldnt start at 1030 but 730 as they are supposed to.:D
