Adam Petty (From: Days of Thunder: The Alternate NASCAR Thread)

Adam Petty started his Career in 1998, shortly after he turned 18. Like his father Kyle, he won his first ARCA RE/MAX Series race, in the #45 Sprint/Spree Pontiac at Lowe's Motor Speedway in that same year.

Petty drove a #45 Sprint Chevrolet in the Busch Series full-time in 1999 after a successful season in the Midwestern short track American Speed Association season in the #45 Spree Pontiac. He also finished sixth in his first Busch Series race at Daytona and had a best finish of fourth place that year. However, he failed to qualify for three races, and finished 20th overall in points.

Petty Enterprises planned to give Adam a Winston Cup ride in 2001 and to give him seven starts in Cup in 2000, along with a full Busch campaign in a car sponsored by Sprint. He struggled early in the Busch season, but managed to qualify in his first attempt at Winston Cup during the DirecTV 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on April 2. He qualified 33rd and ran in the middle of the pack most of the day before his engine expired, forcing him to finish 40th. Lee Petty, Adam's great-grandfather, and 3-time NASCAR Champion, lived to see his debut, but died just three days later.

In 2000, Adam Petty ran 7 Races in the NASCAR Winston Cup Circuit driving the #45 Spree Chevrolet for Kyle Petty and finished 7th in the Point Standings in the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series, after he qualified for Rookie of The Year driving the #45 Sprint PCS Dodge for Petty Enterprises in the aftermath Dodge joins NASCAR in 2001 and finished 10th in the Point Standings to Dale Earnhardt in which he won his 5th Winston Cup Title and Adam Petty won the 2001 Raybestos Rookie of the Year Award, Later on 2003 Adam Petty got new sponsorship from Vocal Drill Radio driving the #43 Dodge and took his team to win 2 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Championships in 2007 and 2009 before STP Returns to Sponsor the #43 Car in 2010 and the Vocal Drill Radio Sponsorship has changed hands to Richard Childress Racing for driver Kevin Harvick and later Austin Dillon.

Adam Petty finished 5th in Points in the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, But Almost won the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title to Brad Keselowski, following the aftermath of a Big Wreck at Phoenix International Raceway, Now in 2013 Can Adam Petty get a Chance at Redemption to win the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series?
