The Alligator Dragon Corps Of Florida

WI after the U.S. acquired Florida from Spain a way were found to make alligator breath combustionable-in other words, turn it into flame-when they ate meat that had been treated with a certain flammable, but non-toxic, chemical? What if these alligators could have been trained and used, like packs of dogs, to patrol the Florida swamplands, or in combat against hostile Seminoles?

obviously the Seminoles would start weaving their clothing from flame-retardant egret feathers....

what were you smoking before you posted?

Reminded me of the verse from Johnny Horton's The Battle of New Orleans:"

We fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down.
So we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round.
We filled his head with cannon balls, and powdered his behind
And when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind.

:D
