The 80s,,minus famous people

How would the 80s be different if the following people died before 1980?:
Michael Jackson
Bruce Springsteen
Madonna
Sylvester Stallone
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Steven Spielberg
Dan Quayle
Jesse Jackson
Bill Gates
Michael Jordan
Joe Montana
(yes, i know some of these people were already successes in the 70s, but the 80s is where they got most of their notoriety from, i was going to throw in no reagan as well, but that would be a topic all its own)

A lot of people would be wondering why the hell so many famous people died
in 1979.

Michael Jackson:
The music/MTV color barrier remains unbroken or to be broken, making it difficult for artists like Prince to make it.
Music videos remain somewhat simple showcases for songs for some time.
Compare George Harrison's "Blow Away" to "Thriller".

Arnold Schwarzenegger:
Sylvester Stallone gets waaay bigger. As the second biggest action star of the 1980's (and early 90's), I can see him branching into many of the role originally given to Arnold. I don't think he'll become the Governor of California, though.

That's a 1980s my parents do not want to live in!

Now these would have some positives.

Bruce: Less shitty music on the radio.
Madonna: The same as Bruce, but we'd lose a great QT movie quote.
Dan Quayle: Bush Sr picks a sane VP.
Jesse Jackson: The first black presidential candidate could actually be someone who makes sense.

The rest would just make life suck.

80's

Without Jordan, the NBA doesn't go into hyper-popularity in the 80's, even though Magic and Bird already elevated the league another level by the time MJ arrived.

Without Montana, it depends on what type of QB they would have had in his place. Joe was good, but playing in Walsh's system made him better. He wouldn't have been what he was without him.

I'm utterly insulted that Freddie Mercury is not included in this list, being one of the greatest stars of the 70s and 80s IMNSHO...
