The 1940 Olympic Games in the Empire of Japan

Assuming the Second Sino-Japanese War doesn't break out in 1937, how would the Summer Games in Tokyo have turned out? How about the Winter Games in Sapporo? Would the Militarists have gone all out to prove the superiority of Japanese athletes to the Europeans and Americans? Would they have launched a propaganda campaign similar to the 1936 Berlin Olympics?

Yes I think so. They´d at the very least show off in some way, maybe more to their own people than the outside world.
