The 14 Colonies

POD: What if the Eddy Rebellion in Nova Scotia had succeeded? Given the disposition of the populace at the time, this isn't difficult to imagine. It's only through a few bits of fortune on part of the British that they were alerted every time the Americans were about to make a move. Suppose whatever spies they had were caught and hung by the Americans...

Given the strategic importance of Halifax to the Royal Navy, a lost of Nova Scotia would be a hit to them. Not to mention it would let the Americans threaten lines of communication between the rest of Canada and Britain. I'm not sure how America would hold on to it in those early years, since the Royal Navy pretty much owned the Atlantic Ocean.

One of George Washington's greatest regrets about the Revolution was that he was unable to support patriots in Nova Scotia, so it was on his mind.

Jeesh, we have like three topics on this today suddenly.

Anyways. The problem is that the Eddy Rebellion at best is in the future New Brunswick, NOT Halifax or peninsular Nova Scotia...which is the meat of the province. Find a way to get Haligonians pissed off enough or the peninsula, and you're gold.

What can I say; we all must be feeling very revolutionary today :D
