EDIT: I made a booboo...spelles Gaudalupe wrong...d'oh.
Ok, this is sorta both before 1900, and after, but...meh. I just need to bounce some ideas off you guys of a timeline I've been musing over in my head for a while.
It starts off, with a PoD in the treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo, where US troops occupy Mexico city, and end up taking all of the present day southern border, plus, Baja California. No Gadsden Purchase. So, I'm hoping this will totally uneffect world events, with a minimum of butterflies, except somehow preventing the fall of the Mexican Empire, and creating, somehow (help

) a state of Mexican affairs where they accept the terms of the Zimmerman Telegram, and kicks off the North American front of WWI.
The war goes as per usual, Russia drops out (important later), etc, albeit the main difference is a major lack of American troops on mainland Europe, being busy knocking around Mexico. Now, what I need, is your opinion on how this would effect the war in Europe, if it would lead to an eventual CP victory, as lack of American resources to help the Allies.
I'd also like some advice on how to make the Fed. Rep. of Germany (instead of the Weimar Rep/German Empire that interwar Germany is known as today, as Germany won't go Nazi, so the government established after WWI will live on to modern times) less epic fail, as eventually I would like this to turn into a "Whites win" TL, with Fascism to be TTL's Communism, with a Fascist Russia and Mexican Empire being the main powers.
~~~
So, basically, that was the general outline per se, and I kinda would love to hear anyone's opinion on this. It will be my first real TL, so I don't expect it to be too uber complicated, and I may end up redoing it to make it more realistic at a later date, when I get better at this TL writing stuff.
Thanks for any help you can offer!!
