Textbooks recomendations on bavarian families, spanish colonization, klein venedig colony

I want to write a timeline about a surviving Klein-Venedig colony, so i'd like to know more about the powerful families that lived in bavaria and neighboring areas in germany to have a clear picture on how i have to write this timeline.

So if you know about any textbook that explains more about the history and genealogy of the Welsers and other families of the region i'd appreciate it.

Also if you know of any source that explains in detail about the failure of the Klein-Venedig Colony i'd appreciate it even more, as in Spanish (ironically) i couldn't find any reliable source and wikipedia didn't provide me with any useful info. Thanks

I'm afraid I don't know of anything off the top of my head, but @King of the Uzbeks might be able to help. They're using the Welsers in their timeline at the moment and may know some good sources for you to draw on.

Perhaps if the Welsers got La Plata instead of Venuzuela, the colony could be more succesfull.

Probably not. IIRC the Welsers were vested with Klein-Venedig in the 1520s while the first settlement of Buenos Aires under Mendoza didn't happen until 1536, and it was rapidly abandoned by 1541 after the indigenous peoples literally burned it down. Successful permanent settlement of Buenos Aires didn't happen until 1580, which is well after the timeframe of the Welsers.
