For those who followed it, before I started planning out a timeline in which Texas gains independence, among other large changes. Here is the start of that timeline. I'll add more to it tomorrow.

GLORIOUS TEXAN REPUBLIC REIGNS IN CENTENIAL WITH EXHIBITIONAL FAIR
by Leonard H. Bertie

Held on the city of Austin’s Common, our Glorious Republic will be celebrating its one hundred year anniversary. People from all over the world are invited to marvel at our outstanding feats of architecture and technology. This is a Celebration that all great nations of the world are welcome to attend. As such, Booths from participating countries will be present.
It is my hope that those who flock to our great Cities from abroad take a moment to read this wonderful paper, with special attention devoted to this article. Those who would maybe doubt the supremacy in our history need only look at the struggles we have come against and overcome [1]: from the Texan War of Independence, to the Grand Coalition, to our African campaigns. Texas truly stands tall amongst the civilized and righteous nations and civilizations of the world.
The seeds of revolution were sown early on, with the formation of the Mexican territory “Coahuila y Tejas”. At this time the Mexican Empire was in a state of turmoil as it decided which form of government to take, whether to be a federation or based on centrism. Whichever government they would choose, however, their now defunct empire was founded on suppression of religion and freedom. Texans knew this well, as Papists [2] forced them to convert before becoming settlers, and take oaths that no free man should have to take. Committees of Correspondence and Safety were set up; later, this Committee would grow into the Committee of Safety and Freedom [3], or the C.S.F., which we know today.
Even though we secured our freedoms with might of arms and the will of the righteous, our path was not always set. One of our founding, dearly beloved leaders passed so quickly after the dream of a Republic of Texas was reached; surely had Sam Houston survived that fateful gunshot, he would have continued to lead our nation to un-bowing independence. We even nearly lost our Second and Fifth President, Stephen F. Austin, to a sudden bout of pneumonia. The Period known as the “Struggle for Governance” came to an end unofficially, however, when President Lamar officially set the Capital at Washington, D.B. during his third term.
Our Celebration is not only for the defeat of our enemies, the growth of Texas into an Economic Grandhouse, or for our presence in the Hemisphere and abroad: our Celebration is for the people of Texas, chosen by God Himself.

[1] - The author is, of course, leaving out the most obvious defeats that Texas has faced, many of which in the current generations lifetime.

[2] - Bertie is of course being inflammatory, in a style which his specific audience likes. Although immigrants were made to join the Catholic Church, and even pay a tithe, many still remained Protestants.

[3] - Think a version of OTL CIA, FBI, NSA and ICE rolled into one. The organization is very overreaching, especially compared to what normal Texans are used to dealing with.
