Terrell Owens not injured in Week 15 against the Cowboys

This is my first post here and I got to say this is an interesting website. Anyways, I'm an Eagles fan and as you all know that they lost Super Bowl XXXIX to the Patriots and that T.O. put on an impressive performance even though his broken leg wasn't fully healed. Some other Eagles fans have told me that if he hadn't been injured in Week 15, the Eagles would've won SB XXXIX and T.O. would be the MVP because if he could play like that with an injury imagine what he could've been playing like if he were fully healthy in that game. I wonder what your guy's thoughts are on this scenario.

Looking at it from another angle, imagine how it would forever alter the image of Tom Brady. He wouldn't have (as many Superbowl victories under his belt to counter his recent struggles in big games). We might have a Tom Brady who is seen as a Neil O'Donnell type QB who chokes in big games.

Still, I doubt Owen would stay in Philly for long, if anything getting the Superbowl trophy would make TO even more insufferable and make Andy Reid and McNabb even less willi to put up with his antics

Ravens

What if Owens went to the Ravens instead of the Eagles in the 04 offseason instead? That almost happened.

As scenarios go, it was a 3-point game, any number of things could've changed the outcome. Even just a modestly better defensive performance would lead to an Eagles victory, so a healthy TO would've been able to switch it up. Even just assume he makes some dynamite play in the last few minutes.

It changes the dynamic of things in Philly obviously; the championship drought ends 4 years earlier than OTL (when the Phillies won in 2008) and may actually reduce the bandwagon effect when the Phils get hot in 2007-2010.

The fundamentals of the Eagles don't change much at first, they still have the basic issues with Owens and he probably still leaves, and things play out more or less as they did IOTL through 2009. But I don't think that Donovan McNabb gets traded to the Redskins, and he may have enough halo effect to continue to play for the Eagles into 2010, missing the playoffs and derailing the whole Vick era. After 2010, the team goes through a proper rebuilding effort instead of the "Dream Team" win-now moves. Hey, we can hope.

If he plays otherwise the same but wins SB XXXIX, McNabb is probably an actual HoF contender. Especially as the second black QB to win a Super Bowl.

Tom Brady wouldn't be as highly regarded as IOTL - since he would have won two instead of three Super Bowls - but I can't imagine him or Belichick ever going on anything but their own terms in New England.

I still see the Eagles winning the NFC Championship against the Falcons as in OTL because in that game T.O. wasn't playing and the Eagles Defense was at it's peak and they shut down the Falcons offense in that game and only allowed a TD and a Field Goal in the Second Quarter. I don't know if SB XXXIX would be different except T.O.'s performance in SB XXXIX on a broken leg would've never happened.
