Temporal religion?

In what way?

As in the monarch is the head of the religion, up to and including the monarch being considered a living god*? Or as in the religion is intimately bound to a nation state, whereby something terrible up to the end of the world will happen if the state disappears?

*Of which there have been many - Imperial Rome, Ancient Egypt and Japan being amongst the most famous.

true, but not quite there. I''m thinking about a political religion like Juche but thousands steps further

The Neo-Assyrian Empire could fit the bill, their king was the viceroy of the god Ashur, their whole religion was tuned to maintaining their dominion. The Assyrians believed physical idols had spiritual power and specifically "took captive" the idols of other gods for propaganda purposes.
