Tech Implications of No WW 1

In 1914 the US 1 Car for 7 people, GB & France had 1 for 20, East Europe ran somewhere around 1 /73, and Russia had 1 /220 some.
However with the Paris Taxis use to transport the troops, much more money was spent on Mechanizing the military.
This lead to improvement in the Motors and the Metallurgy of the vehicles. Corresponding Improvements were made in the Aeronautical, and Naval Fields.

With out the War all this would have been slower. I think it would happen but with out the accelerated necessary of the War it could take up to ten or more years to get the results of 1914 ~1918.

However there is the Lost Generation. Several British potential Nobel Prize winners for 1915 ~1916, came home from France and Turkey in Pine Boxes.
With Out the War, it is possible that they and others could invent things that would accelerate, tech even more than OTL.

?So Which do You find more Likely, Retardation --or --Accelerated development?

Accelerated development, as much as war pushes tech it also destroys economies so a lot of potential development has to be put aside for fighting and then rebuilding.

Commercial radio was held back by the war, though arguably got a bigger bump when it resumed afterwards

Aircraft development would still have galloped apace, but with more focus on long-range air-worthiness

The global car scene would be different; unlikely that Mr Bentley would ever have got to the prominence he did, and the same with Lincoln IIRC
