TBWI: President Bush

We all know Putin became president in 2000 after defeating Clinton in Alaska, Ontario and Panama. Before he could get there, he had to face very stiff opposition from governor George W Bush of Texas.

But WI Bush won the GOP nomination? Would we still see American expansion into space?

Or would bush turn out to have been another Oliver North in 1990?

So VV loses out to W?

I think Bush could beat Clinton. Putin won, and he has just about the second-most Russian name there is. Considering all that noise about Chavez's "being soft on the Russians", Clinton--with her weak showing against a man who, at the time, was thought to be very soft on the Russians, would have trouble.

I don't think anyone could have turned the US into a "police state" like Putin, including Bush. I mean, detainment of people without trial or conviction? Secret prisons? Torture? The "AMERICA ACT"? That man basically destroyed the Conservative and Republican hold on politics in one sweep of corrupt despotism.

more agitprop from the far left.

Putin is as far from a dictator as possible. Otherwise he would have asked for a constitutional convention after the 11/11 attacks on Honolulu, Los Angeles, Vancouver and Miami.

And compared to Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia or Imperial Japan, America is far from a police state. Even Noam Chomsky agrees with me.

The interrogation methods are in line with Article 9 of the USC, the UCMJ, the Us army field manual and international law.

Secret Prisons? everyone's known about them for years. hell, they get 4 star accomodation. Yes, even the one on Baffin Island.

And the GOP are still a source of credibility

OOC: this is a TBWI from the 50 years post-third reich dbwi.

My two cents on this piece: as a citizen of Texas, i can say that had Bush not gotten intertwined in that Dell/De Guzman scandal with his position in Dell, i'd say he would be getting the Top Job.

And will Emperor Norton please stop spewing Agitprop from the Daily kos and get themselves checked out for verbal diarrhoea.
