Taira Victory in the Genpei War

As the title says. Inspired by the coming Shogun 2 DLC, I've been getting into early Japanese history like you wouldn't believe. Anyhow, how is it possible for the Taira to win the Genpei War? I still don't know much about the period as of yet, but from what I understand there was a lot of infighting among them. Though a lot of people also attribute the Minamoto victory to the general awesomeness of Yoshitsune. Anyhow, assuming the Taira somehow win the war and defeat the Minamoto what are the consequences of the Genpei War ending in their favor?

It was said somewhere this war was about also an old underlined conflict of some civilisations - the land-based peoples, farmers, etc... VS merchants, sailors, sea-peoples, etc...

The Minamoto were Land, Taira the Sea. Japan could have been MAYBE somewhat more open, less isolationist if this was true, and Taira won and established their Shogunate...

Pax Nipponia?

A Japan with more contacts with countries accross the sea, more trade with Korea and CHina maybe...

And on a possible darker side, the Taira Shogun turn his eyes south.. the RyuKyu Kingdom?

I was under the impression the Taira tried to rule through the Emperor himself. Wouldn't a Taira victory preserve Imperial power, at least to some degree rather than what happened with them losing all political power in exchange for the shogun?

yeah, but those things have probably many factes, like gems... maybe there will be an Alt Shogun, but kinda like the Kaizer to the Emperor, to make a comparaison?

I means, the power of the Emperor ALREADY was gone.... to the Fujiwara Heike(Kuge?) clan.
Note that both of those warring clans descend from the Fujiwara, if I am right.
