Switzerland Survival?

Given the preparedness and ardent neutrality of the Swiss, I am left to wonder if they would be able to survive an apocalyptic event. Primarily, a nuclear war. Further if their was any major attempts or plans to bring them into the NATO or Soviet sides of the conflict.

Their neutrality relies on the existence of other nations. They are still, first and foremost, a tax haven. Probably less self-sufficient than the average country. So, despite their neutrality and their military force skilled in invading Liechtenstein by accident, I think they would fare relatively poorly in an apocalyptic event.

Switzerland is proudly self-sufficient in several agricultural markets (meat and dairy especially), and only about 6% of its imports are of food. A sudden loss of trade might require rationing in some markets but wouldn't be crippling in and of itself.

This doesn't mean that fallout from strikes across the border, or potential nuclear winter, wouldn't be a major problem though (and either of those could put a dent in domestic production of food). On the whole, I think they'd survive better than most of Western Europe, though.
