Swiss Voralberg

Following WWI, a lot of people in Voralberg, an Austrian state, wanted to join Switzerland. In 1919, a referendum on the matter was held, where over 80% of the voters said they would like to join the Swiss. But in the end, this was blocked by a wide range of people, including some Swiss themselves.

But what if there was more international support for such an annexation? What if soon after the referendum, the world reluctantly allows Voralberg to join the Swiss Confederation? How does this Liechtenstein (now entirely surrounded by Switzerland), Austria proper, and Hitler's annexation of Austria? Take your guess.

We just had a thread on this exact topic about a week ago. Might want to do a search.
