Swedish PoD

I think I turn this tread into a list of Swedish PODs. The assasinations of leading politicians is obvious PoDs. Both murders where bad luck because the victims where in the wrong place in the wrong time.

1986: Olof Palme not assasinated
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olof_Palme

2003: Anna Lindh not assasinated
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anna_Lindh

1986 POD: Palme is not the saint he is to the socialdemocrats nowdays, election in 88 goes to the right?

2003 POD: Sweden stills vote NO to the Euro, less turnout though and thus a smaller victory. When Goran leaves office BEFORE the next elction Anna is the next in line and might win the election over the alliance

Sounds about right but the Alliance might still win. It wasn't just Göran, look at the forigin ministers. It's bad enough makig Jan O Karlson forigin minister, but he was the best they had. Remember, Anna Lindh gave a extraordinary rendition and Eliason was out of the country buissy leading the UN.

1981: U137, a nuklear armed Soviet sail into a rock. Tension follows.

I THINK Anna might have avoided going to the theatre december 26 2004 and might have shown som sympathy for the swedish stuck in Thailand than Laila

Yeah. Anybody is better then Laila. The only possible exeption I can come up with is that time Sweden switched forigin ministers with the Soviet union. It should be on the POD list if I can come up with the details.

Must these PODs be post-1900, because if not, I have 2.

1: Gustavus Adolphus does not die at the Battle of Lutzen in the Thirty Years War

2: Sweden wins the Finnish War in 1809, perhaps taking Karelia and the Kola Peninsula, or at least maintaining Finland

I don't mind. I just wanted to make a list and I am lazy enougt to about one or two a day. I do more post 1900 because I know that better.

1995: Mona Sahlin avoided the Toblerone affair.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mona_Sahlin

Mona and not Goran is elected the new Socialdemocratic leader in 1996. She dont use Goran at all and she dont have his debateskills against Bildt. No economic recovery and Sweden is in even worse shape in 1998 and the right wins that election and Mona is ousted. Carl Bildt still the head of the moderate party

Today, it is intesting people and a slight airplane mishap.

1884: Strange accident kills Sven Hedin
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sven_Hedin

1921: Carl Gustav von Rosen killed in a strange acident (quite likely, he was a quite wild as a child).

Note that the War Nerd didn't capture half the coolness of this guy. He was head of the Ethiopian airforce among other things.

And the people we want to see live longer.

1948: Folke Bernadotte rescued jews from the holocost. Became diplomat and was killed by Zionist extermists
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folke_Bernadotte

1961: Secritary General Dag Hammarskjöld of the UN survive a air crash. Carl Gustav von Rosen could have been the pilot which might serve as a pod.

1945: Raoul Wallenberg escapes from Soviet captivity.

1952: Due to a slight technical problem, a DC-3 returns to Bromma just after take-of.
