Sweden in World War Two...

What is a definate possibility would be Sweden getting involved during the Winter war in a big way. Sweden might have made a big difference in the ability of Finland to defend itself.
Swedwen was within days of this, when the General who was planning to take his forces into Finland , was recalled to Stockholm.

To say the least, Sweden is going to come out of WW2 worse if they fight on either side, and its culture will be SERIOUSLY changed by occupation or defeat when the war ends.

In my War of the Americas timeline I have Sweden becoming involved in the Second World War, but given that this war is fairly divergent from OTL WWII it may not fit the intent of the OP. But I wanted to plug my timeline:D

As we know the Swedish potential to join the Axis was small. So to make it possbile for them to jump into the Axis camp, we change three things. Firstly, we change the size of the army and push it up by 200K. Secondly, we have the Nowergian Army call for German Support. Finally, we have Sweden come fully onto the side of Finland in the Winter War.

Now we have all those changes in place, we run with the story.

History of Sweden in The Second Great War

What can be said about the reems of History. Well we know we can say one thing, that there is one Country that showed that these reems can be torn apart. Sweden, one of the most beautiful sights to behold, with ice packs to the North and live forests to the South. This land is amazing, yet the people who ruled this land wanted to be the hero, it ended up with them becoming the villians in History. 1940, a good year for wine but sadly a good year for War and torment.

Thw Winter War of the North, the small country of Finland holding itelsf steady against the advancing claws of the USSR. As time passes the Finnish people begin to tire and weaken, yet when all seems lost, Sweden come in like the Knight in shining armour and declares war on the USSR. The End of the war comes for both sides, the Finnish army has held it's lines. The Soviet Union walks away with barely any land. The Stage has began for the Swedish to jump into the Axis.

Navris was all but a target waiting to go wrong, Norway suffers and jumps into the axis hand. Germany comes in and tries to offer support, the British Empire invades Norway. Then Sweden declares war on the UK. Soon the German help take Norway and the UK is pushed out. With this happening, Sweden decides to increase it's army and begins to support it's allies to the east. Time ticks away, France falling and Spain coming in. When Winter sets and Spring comes in, 1941 is here to fight.

Thr year 1941, would be a great year for the people's of Europe peace seemed so close and war so far way. For the people's of the East, they would learn the word of lead. The invasion of the USST gegan on June the 18th 1941. Within a few months, all that would be standing between victory and defeat for the Germans would be Moscow. Whice this great war went on. Sweden with the Finnish Army were attacking and surronfining ALeningrad. Also at the same time, they were attacking Mumrmask. By the time it reached 1942, the German army had failed to completely take Moscow. However, they had devasted the Soviet Union. While in the grat North Leningrad and Mirmask had fallen. Allioed aid now hasd to travel to Arcankalsk.

The real end would come for both sides in 1942. The Allied Offrensive in the ALantic would evanually claer the way for the convoys to get throguht o the UK, while in the East the Germans would lose several battles Culminating in the battle of Stalingrad. The German Army would take the city but be pushed out. Yet still the Axis armies remained supreme in Land and Air. To the North though the Swedish and Finnish armies would continue to try and push the Russian Army of the Kola Penisula. Sadly for the Finnish they would fail to competly eradicate the Russian prensence fro, the Kola Pensula. Come 1943, the allies would go on the offensive once again.

I believe that with the addition of the Swedish military it would have been quite possible for the axis force to at the very least cut the rail links to Murmansk and even very likely that the city could be seized in 1941.

That's true, and quite dangerous for Russia: A lot of L&L ships went there. If Murmansk is gone, there are just Persia and Vladivostok left (and Archangelsk in the summer).

If the Japanese would close of shipments of aid to the Soviet Uninon in the Far East that would leave just Persia and the amount of aid that could reach them would be drastly reduced. Arkangel would not really be of much use as it could come under attack and was unusable in the winter. In addition the Swedish arms industry could produce lots of advanced german weapons resulting in a better equipped Swedish army and Air Force.
