Swapped Start/End Dates of Events

Hello! This is my first post on this forum, and I came up with an idea that I think would be interesting.

You take a historical event or an exchange in territory that lasted more than a few years (like The American Civil War for example) and you swap the end date and the beginning date. Then you choose either one and try to explain why it happened that way. So with the ACW example, you could have it end in 1861 or start in 1865. I just thought it would be a fun thing to do.

Welcome to the forum.

Um, I'm a bit confused. So forgive me if I understand it wrong, would it be like the American Revolution starts in 1783, and then say, "oh well, the Americans revolted in 1783 because [insert reason here]"?

Oh, I see. So World War II started in 1945 because the Western Powers kept appeasing Hitler and the Nazis stayed away from Russia, Japan held off, etc

Yes like that. Or you could have it end in 1775 as well.
