What would be your best ideas on how to keep the Old Prussian language and nation alive to the modern day? Perhaps a successful christianization without the need for a crusade? Though that would probably require coalescing as a unified entity first.
Oups.... Well, maybe a ''Prussian order'', an earlier christianization of the Prussian pagan could mean that they end up in charge of christianize the Baltic, allowing them to be the one in power (by being supported by christiandom)Teutonic order is the VERY BAD idea. It was the main reason the original Prussians died out, as they were Pagans and the Teutons simply holy warred them into extinction.
It dosen't have to, if we take the POD of earlier conversion and creation of a distinct ''Prussian order'' to christianize the Baltic pagan, latin would be use for interaction with the christiandom while Prussian would be use, and maybe forces, on the baltic population.Even without a war and peaceful Christianization there would be a decree of Germanization, but it can survive.
Prussia doesn´t have the numbers themselves to just fight all the other Baltic pagans and there is a need of people from a abroad to Christianize the country more so when the population density is relatively low and the Carolingian core is dense. It dosen't have to, if we take the POD of earlier conversion and creation of a distinct ''Prussian order'' to christianize the Baltic pagan, latin would be use for interaction with the christiandom while Prussian would be use, and maybe forces, on the baltic population.
But it is true that German, Polish and maybe Lithuanian would eventualy mesh with Prussian.
