Surviving German Monarchy after Defeat

Is there anyway to preserve the German monarchy after the defeat in WWI? The defeat should be similar to what happened in OTL, although I guess the details can be messed around with a bit.

There are several possibilities that might have altered the outcome. King George V puts his foot down and applies pressure to the government of Lloyd George. As a result the British oppose the French move to try the Kaiser. Wilson follows up on his 14 points and opposes an unjust peace. third possibility, Kaiser and his son resign their rights to the throne and the Kaisers Grandson is named as Kaiser with a regency. Fourth possibility Crown Prince Ruphert is named as the new Kaiser of Germany bringing in a non Prussian royal house.

I doubt William II will be able to survive as monarch, he'll probably have to abdicate. Crown Prince Rupert is in fairly good standing, having been a fairly competent commander on the Western front.
