I just remembered a country that I learned about during a project I had for a spanish class. I'm not sure if anyone knows much about it, but I was wondering on anyones thoughts on this. Maybe if I can get enough information and thoughts I'll work it into a timeline.
What do you think could have happened had the Federal Republic of Central America survived its internal struggles and remained a union, rather than dissolving into the five central american states we know today?
I haven't done enough research at the moment, so theres not much I can work off of, but I do wonder if they had remained unififed, might they have at some point tried to take Panama? There were some in the FRCA who believed that a canal linking the Atlantic and the pacific, and it would be a great economic boost to the country, and Panama is the best place to build one. (it in fact did, but in OTL, I believe it greatly benefitted the US's economy)
Anywho, any thoughts?
