What if instead of the usual "red baron survives" threads we do something different? What if Oswald Boelcke or Max Immelmann survived the war?
Boelcke was more in the creation of tactical doctrine and establishing training schools, making him a prime candidate for having a potentially influential role post-war/pre-war in developing an air force. Maybe his total would surpass even the red baron's if he had lived beyond 1916. Indeed, the Richthofen continued to idealize the man even after he had long surpasses his total. One interesting factor about him was his development of squadron tactics instead of only individual maneuvers.

So, perhaps have him get involved with the Nazis and we could have a massive boost in the Luftwaffe's doctrine and structure pre-war. No Knight of the Sky concept of running the pilots until death, but a healthy rotation system with a focus on unit tactics. This could mean a deadlier time for the Allies.

Might give the Luftwaffe even more influence then in otl. And some more WW1 british pilots die.

I do plan to write a Oswald Boelcke's Luftwaffe TL, but it still in the stage of research.

Well that depends really doesn't it. He got the position as a NAZI first and foremost

Best Regards
Grey Wolf
Butterflies could always get him killed during ww1. :D Not ment to insult pilots that been killed because of various flying birds.:(

Here's one who doesn't often get notice. He racked up twenty victories in two years (including four in one day), before his death. Let's say 30-35 total if he lived. Pour le Mérite, Hohenzollern House Order, Iron Cross . . . perhaps more if he lived.

However, he won't be getting any position under the National Socialist German Worker's Party. He may even be a big enemy of theirs:

Even though he converted to marry a shiksa, Wilhelm Frankl is indisputably and absolutely 100% non-Aryan. Oy.

(Though as a "German of the Mosaic Faith" he would probably disdain any such crude and rustic Yiddishims. Goysiche kopf.)
