Supporters of Archbishop Lanfranc's mission

King William I and Queen Matilda of England were supporters of Archbishop Lanfranc's mission to revitalize the Church.
Between 1072 and 1076, Lanfranc organized a series of reforming councils to regulate the English Church according to Normandy practices, forbidding the sale of church offices and determining the episcopal sees.
