While we are a bit scared of russia, we are even more scared of China amd Russia has more concerns about China as well.

Russia will live to see WW3 and probably alot more after that.

The US invasion of Japan in WW2 has been discussed on this forum several times before, and usually those who suggest it fail to take into account that, even without the nuclear bombings, what really caused Japan to surrender was the Soviet attack in Manchuria. Your TL provides no reason why Stalin, with all those troops at hand, would refrain from making his move.
October 27th 1945: U.S.S.R. invades Manchuria.
Why wait until October when everything was good to go in August?

November 28th 1945: Chinese citizen Yet Yori gains power amoung the poor, and makes friends with a few government officals in China.

December 12th 1945:Yet Yori declares himself leader of China, the government fails to arrest him and civil revolts begin in all major cities.

December 14th 1945: Yet Yori becomes leader of China.
Just like that. It took Mao 22 years, two civil wars and the Soviet occupation of Manchuria, and that guy succeeds in two months? Him and what army?

Also, I'm afraid a pet peeve of mine is when people make up Chinese names without doing their homework. "Yet" doesn't exist in Mandarin and "Yori" is a Japanese word.

December 20th 1945: The 6 Blade Alliance between China, U.S.S.R., Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Korea is formed.
Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos weren't independent countries yet.

January 10th 1946: China declares war on Tibet, claiming they are holding plans from Japan to allow Japanese Soilders passage into West China, this is fabricated.
China wouldn't "declare war" on a country it doesn't recognize in the first place.

May 1st 1946: Chinese druglord Ohem Gran assumes power and attacks Japan while sinking U.K. Canada and U.S.A. vessals, U.S.S.R. declares war on China.
Another silly made-up name.

May 15th 1946: The French Scandel: Majority of the French government resigns after plan to Bomb Beijing and baiting China into betraying Vietnam is leaked.
The capital of China was Nanjing.

May 21st 1946: Adam Tosunne, a French Socalist, kills 2000 French citizens in one day.

May 30th 1946: The French death toll raises to 45000, Tosunne now controls an army of around 400.

May 31st 1946: Tosunnit becomes an independant country, and becomes a close ally of Russia.
Now this is more than silly, it's childish.

June 10th 1946: China bombed by Russia and Japan, Tosunnit rufuses to attack China but gives supplies to Russia, Charles De Gaulle becomes Presidental Monarch of France.
Give me a break.

January 15th 1947: The Day of Big Change: IIA set into effect Countries formed: India, Grand Arabia, East African Union, Democratic Union of Central Africa, United African Territories, Numidia, Chad, Oceania. Singapore refuses to join Oceania. Latin American Fair Divide Treaty established and set into effect immediatly after, Countries formed: Incan Republic, Venezula Union, Brazil, Southrenar, and Panama Superior. Facist Leader Ahmeddan Ark takes control of Persia.Saloth Sar assassination attempt and his rule is revoked when his true age is revealed.
Need I really say what I think of this?

January 17th 1947: Xan Zo Rae becomes the leader of The USRM, Derek Tosunne gives him Tosunnit body guards for better protection
Is there one Chinese name in your TL that you didn't pull out of thin air?

In short, I'm not usually this harsh with newcomers, but for the love of heaven do your homework. This attempt is flawed beyond salvage, you may as well start over. Preferably after reading up on what others have already come up with about the US invasion of Japan.

I know I got alot of country names wrong and I didn't actually take my time to look up real Chiniese names, I'm going to fix these up but I'm just using simpler names and terms at the moment.

and then instead of declare war I'll have them perform genocide in Tibet.

Why would the Soviets wait until the start of Winter to make their move?

Stalin had agreed to move 3 months after Germany surrendered, a promise he kept to the day. Waiting does nothing to help the Red Army, in fact is is a serious negative since the flying weather will be much worse and the ground conditions will be at their worst for armored warfare.

There is also the minor fact that the U.S. invasion planning didn't call for Honshu (where Tokyo is located) to be invaded until 1946.

There are 11,000,000 other problems, but these will do for now.

I also love how the American forces, after taking Kyushu in 7 days, manage to magically teleport to the middle of Honshu.

You also got politics, diplomacy and warfare wrong. Real world =/= videogame.

Brilliant. I don't want to sound like a jerk, but, do you even know what you're talking about?

Genocide: killing of a spefic group of poeple.

and this is an older idea that was very flawed, I posted it here to try and work them out.

Incendiaries...

IIRC, the USAF's daylight raids were steadily fire-bombing Japan back to the StoneAge, H&N being left as convenient targets for the two nukes.

Meanwhile, USN subs were mining harbours, sinking anything that had fuel to sail...

Snag was that the Japanese population were expected to dig in like Okinawa, then defend to the last sharpened bamboo stick while every non-combatant starved to death.

They needed serious convincing to surrender: Japanese authorities initially considered first nuke as just another incendiary raid. Second brooked no argument...

Without nukes ? USAF burn the BigIslands' cities, burn all the ports, burn all the towns and start on the bigger villages. Before long, only the Imperial Residence stands. Anything that sails is sunk. Anything that moves is strafed. Come Winter, most Japanese starve. The major islands stay quarantined for years while survivors die off or throw themselves onto the beach-heads' wire...

Remember the few stranded soldiers who came out of island jungles decades later ? Now think thousands, half-starved, half-mad and every last one fanatically murderous...

That's not a nice scenario to have on your conscience...

Operation August Storm was serious convincing. How come so many people don't factor in the huge shock that the loss of Manchuria was to the Japanese leadership? More than the nukes themselves, about which they didn't find out until days afterwards, it was the Soviet declaration of war that finally convinced them surrender was the only option left.

This has been mentioned every time the issue has come up, but apparently to no avail. Is this a variation on the common theme that the US and the US alone won WW2?

Ahem. I believe you're overlooking Einstein and his little friend:

In all seriousness though- kudos to Zac for not flaring up like a lot of new guys. Well done, Zac- just do the research and TLs can be really rewarding- a lot of new guys just refuse to listen to factual advice and storm off. Thumbs up

no nuking

America invades Japan, gets smashed by japanese jets. Japan takes over half the world ending in a coldwar between her and Russia
