successful United Arab Republic relationship with Us

Say Iraq and Sudan join balancing out Egypt, Along with coopting of the baath party in Syria and Iraq

Would the Us start heavily backing anti-nasser forces in the Middle east and North Africa or would they regard arab nationalism as a fait accompli and start backing nasser in the hope of making him Pro-American or Neutral

Would they station troops in the gulf states

What do you mean by "successful"? In what sense? Unless Nasser succeeded in wiping out Israel in a surprise attack, the US would counter Nasser by backing that country as in the OTL.

Yeah. The kinds of PoDs needed for such a successful union are big enough that they change the whole nature of the Union. So... It could be a Communist, Russian backed state. It could be a PanArabist state (not with Sudan included, though), it could be a fully democratic EU analog. So many possibilities, so many possible sets of relations with the US or the West.

I'm talking about this one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Arab_Republic
and Why not Sudan ?

It would help balance out Egypt and Sudan the northern parts is arab , South sudan and darfur are not
Yeah, you're right, I apologize. I knew the 'north' is Muslim and the 'south' (now independent) is not, and I knew there are 'lots' of black muslims. I didn't realize the bulk of the population was actually arab.

That one was not, wouldn't be stable. Adding more members makes it more prone to disintegration, not less.
"Why not Sudan?" Because Sudan isn't Arab.
It depends, much of the Iraqi coup leaders were pro Nasserist, and having them in the federation de facto gives Nasser a viceroy on the ground which he lacked in Syria and Yemen.
