Successful Catilinarian Conspiracy

What would be the short and long term ramifications of Catiline actually succeeding in ousting the Republican government in Rome and making himself dictator. Would Catiline be assassinated, would his policies cripple Rome's economy further and is a successful conspiracy likely to start an earlier succession of military rule in the Republic?

Sorry but it just could not succeed. Catilina did have neither enough prestige, nor enough power and backers.

Catilina failed because those that were supposed to be his backers did not want him to succeed because they knew it would end in a failure that would engulf them all. Crassus and Caesar, who were politically rather close to Catilina, despised him and probably discreetly gave the necessary information to Cicero in order to bring Catilina's downfall. Gaius Antonius Hybrida also prefered to be bought rather than supporting Catilina.

Catilina's coup was just a mediocre copy of Lepidus' attempt in 78/77. Lepidus was a consul from one of the most prestigious gentes and had command of the gallic province.
